apm doesn't really matter in dota. He likes to roam around and control the game. Tinker is a unique hero in terms of role so i advise playing roaming supports/gankers.

Mechanical ability is reasonably important even above the "baseline" needed to play simple heroes such as CM.

If this guy wants to leverage superior mechanical ability and gets bored playing Wraith-King style heroes, then why not point him in the right direction?

Comparing tinker to roaming supports is... a tough one for me to grasp.

Oh snap, meepo with boots of travel would be ridiculous haha. Has anyone done it in a pro setting? Anytime one meepo is in trouble you can just send him home. Sounds like it could work.

I know very little about dota though so i might be totally wrong ahaha.

No its legit although usually it comes after some other items (especially aghs).

Note that with 3 or more meepos you can TP the main one home, poof a hurt one to it, then poof the healed ones back out and poof ur last ones back home for full heal without ever really going home all at once. Or like send a meepo to each lane and poof around ratting etc.

So basically meepo already has ghetto travels and other items are generally higher priority (Aghs!). Eventually its good though.

If we're talking roaming nuking rocket/laser tinker, it makes perfect sense to me.

The truth is that there aren't that many heroes with which you can leverage superior mechanics, so suggesting a game-controlling role exactly as Laserist does makes sense to me!

tinker is similiar to a roaming support? no not even close, tinker needs like 4k gold worth of items to do anything, i don't think that he is comparable to a roaming mirana or a roaming venge or something. Antimage is closer to tinker than a roaming support. Maybe some people would compare him to a lycan or a natures prophet it is true to a certain extent but he is actually bad at killing towers, he is good at pushing lanes and killing people after he has scythe but not really a tower pusher.

Tinker is much more similar to a roaming support than Antimage if you aren't prioritizing March. There are two distinctly different playstyles. One involves pushing lanes, the other involves seeking fights and blowing people the eff up.

even if you want to go agressive you still need - bots (2450), bottle (650), soulring (800), dagger (2150) that is 6050 gold if you want to you can discount the dagger for some earlier ganks it is still absurd to compare it to a hero that buys boots tango smoke and makes some stuff happen.

I agree with this. tinker that is maxing lazer + rockets kills most heroes early to midgame with that combo + maybe 1 to 2 right clicks. That was the more popular style years ago. Now people just wanted to farm tinker.

the problem is not the skill order, it is rather tinkers mana pool is just so small that you are not a big solokill threat. Tinker also has very little hp and no escape. Not getting march in mid is often a reason why players lose mid but regardless of that assuming you go 4-4-0-1 and don't lose mid you don't have the mana nor the hp (for soulring) to sustain your skills if the enemy has literally no lockdown you can maybe get out 1 laser and 2x rockets.

You don't need to get march to get farmed.
Only thing why you get march in midlane and not easy lane - you can stack and farm ancients from lowground, without moving there and losing experience in mid.
But even with 4-4-0-1, you can easily hit 10 or less minutes boots of travel and after it game becomes fun and furious.

Don't underestimate power of 4-4-0-1, there are barely 5-10 heroes in pool who can really survive that burst with Tinker who is spamming laser.

The reason to get march is to get yourself free time to grab runes and stack/farm jungle camps, without losing exp/gold. Kinda like a shadowfiend tinker is a lot about maximizing your farm in the early game, sure getting 10 minute bots/soulring/bottle is a decent timing but if you are using your time well you can have it a lot faster. Also if they put a ranged hero with better base damage in mid you will get denied a lot and have to catch up farm elsewhere, against some heros you have to leave the lane after a couple of minutes if you are stuck with laser/rocket in one of these games you might as well just abandon.

You don't need a lot with Tinker. BoTs/Dagger or force staff and you're ready to go. Other things are just exclusive.
*to clarify, i hate Tinker with dagon almost as much as Furion*
Also Tinker has 55 damage if you start with branches which i can't consider as little.

Ursa, like easy.
Max Q, smash LC, he can't do shit to you. And even if he duels you, i guess, you have bigger chance to win it.
Fuzzy Wuzzy really dominates almost every 1v1 matchup against melee heroes.

Of course, if he counter-attacks you every time when you hit him (or her/she, doesn't matter), then you will probably fall faster. But if RNG Gods aren't with him, then it's easy for you, Mr.Ulfsaar.

I'm with Ursa. Earthshock and overwhelming odds have a similar damage/mana ratio. Ursa can follow up with overpower + fury swipes. LC can't really avoid that if she wants lasthits.
