Soul ring allows him to use ult on CD and since he generally finishes it around the same time as his level 6 it allows him to farm in aggressive locations (the enemy jungle usually) without any concern about his HP. While he is still mana constrained until orchid, it helps a lot. Do note that orchid doesn't actually solve clinkz's mana issues single handedly, whereas orchid + soul ring does. If orchid is "solving" your mana issues as clinkz then you probably aren't spending enough mana to be efficient Envy also generally goes midas pre-orchid as well since at least in pubs "ganking" is pretty unreliable when your teammates are much worse than their teammates. A situation few share so pls no midas clinkz in pubs LOL Well, since i do not watch Envy's stream (seriously, this music is terrible) i have no clue what he does on clinkz in pubs. And we all know about blinkz.

Well since u don't watch his stream don't comment on what he builds lol.
Blinkz is legit although sometimes Envy does it at the wrong time. Blink on clinkz makes you borderline ungankable and lets you farm pretty much wherever you want (within reason). It also exerts MORE pressure on the opposing team.

drums buildup isn't even that good. drums has a 450 gold component that does nothing and requires an 875 gold recipe besides that it's not even particularly hard to save 1k unless you're feeding constantly. ghost is mildly harder to get but really 1600 isn't that bad sange builds into halberd and provides nearly double the hp of drums I feel like we're not talking about supports anymore, especially when we're talking about relatively casual sanges that can later be upgraded into halberds, or discounting the value of a mantle of int as part of the buildup of drums. Or you play manlier supports than I do.
I normally go boots, drums radiance on radiance/illusion carries. But I tried his build on spectre just now : Boots, vit, radiance but i had some of manaproblems which i dont normally dont have on naga, my favorite radiance hero. Because of these manaproblems i missed some game-impact and gold. Ofcourse this doesnt state that this vit-tactic doesnt work for him, as he might well be alot better in manamanagement then i am on spectre. But I needed more manapool and i missed a sort of buildup, which on a nagacarry i do have with boots, drums and radiance. Every player there own strat/tactics ofcourse.
E : This means that for me and my skillrating, if i dont build a drum but a vitalitybooster, it feels that i will still have to boost my HP pool, manapool, HP and manaregen and attackdamage somehow.
E2 : I forgot to mention I also had wand (it was an active game from lvl1)

stick or aquila can fix any of your mana problems as spectre
|
Spectre doesn't have the mana to spam her q for farm without a serious investment in mana (more than just drums). That kind of investment isn't worth it considering how mediocre q is for farming.

Well if ur not using it to farm, and ur running out of mana, then you are playing spectre horribly wrong.
Not that it matters when ur opponents are 2k lol.

just ferry mana pots between fights or bum some bottle sips

Eww, you bought 250 HP item and still needed HP!? Nah, drums would be completely pointless then. And if you want manapool, just get pointbooster instead of vit booster. Skadi on spectre is completely legit as 1st or 8th slot. Spectre main damage in teamfights comes from desolate at least until she gets manta +diffu+ big agi item (ethereal/butterfly) anyways so drums are irrelevant for this too.

Drums active can many times net you a kill you weren't going to get or net you a juke you weren't supposed to get.
So, I like it very much, and build it on a lot of supports I play.

Disagree.
Just the 5% MS aura is providing between 15-20 MS bonus on any hero with boots. With the active, that number triples for 8 seconds for anyone in the area. If you wanted to look at it as raw number values, during the active it's proving around 400 extra units moved to any allies within range of the active. Force staff's push is 600 units on a 20 second cooldown. Even though they don't do the same thing, they're somewhat comparable. Force staff is more useful in more scenarios, but drums provides more from the item itself than a force does.
Also 6 int is 80ish mana pool which is fantastic on most heroes, especially early game.

I think on spectre the vit booster is better when going radiance but the drum is better when going yasha/diffusal builds. This is because illusions in the radiance build rely on the aura for their damage. Radiance illusions don't really need move speed because they have 400 base. For diff blade builds, more move speed means more illusion hits and this makes move speed a more useful stat in that situation.

how do old chests work in dota? If you open an old chest can you get the old now removed items or are the loot tables all updated?

Orb of venom is cheap and damn good before you get diffu and manta.

Who cares about HP if you are not going to be in a fight and your illusions are tankier than any other illusions by design. And, yes OoV is sick good, i sometimes even bother going skadi first item on spec if i really want to mess around.

The skadi seems interesting. Im gonna try it out too. thx for an idea to fill my evening

The point of spectre's ulti is that she can join fights anywhere on the map and she can do tricks like fight->die->buyback->haunt.
