Do note that: windrunner's charge bar is bugged. It needs "1 second" to do the full amount of damage, but it counts her natural animation time. Basically you can release your powershot at like .6 seconds then cancel midway and I think it'll still do max damage.

In general i think windrunner is just a really weak offlaner compared to bristle, clockwerk, timbersaw, bounty hunter or even a furion. You don't Powershot for CS. You only spam Powershot to counterpush if the other team set up a double/triple wave to push your tower/have Chen/Enchan pushing. Otherwise, using Powershot to get 1-2 cs doesn't outweigh you putting creep pressure away from you making it easier to zone you away from the creep wave. In DotA 1, it has 0.3s cast + 0.75 channel. In DotA 2 it has 0.3s cast + 1s channel. However, the extra 0.25s channel has no functional impact on the damage--you should cancel that last 0.25s anyway.

-armor is basically desolator in that circumstance anyway so there should be better damage items.

What can I do as a support to not be in this position 25-30 minutes into the game of simply praying that my carries will do their job correctly. Appart from trying to make their farm easier, how can impact the game when I'm a poor and underleveled CM ?

Set up wards to keep yourself and your carry safe. Stay safe and don't get caught out alone. Trying to make big "plays" as a poor and underleveled support, while certainly could turn the tides if it worked, will most likely just result in you feeding. That's the last thing you want to do as a support at that point. Your main time for big "impact" plays as something like a CM would be in the first 20 minutes of the game. Work to get an advantage then with good laning and good rotations, and hopefully if your team is good, they'll be able to compound on that advantage once your effectiveness starts to fall off.

Securing farm for others does little in pubs, and it does less the lower in MMR you are. If the carry dies stupidly a few times, he basically threw away any advantage he got from having you babysit him in lane, making your whole game contribution count for nothing.

Appart from trying to make their farm easier, how can impact the game when I'm a poor and underleveled CM ? + Show Spoiler [cm specific] + you shouldnt ever really be poor and underleveled as cm. one of her biggest selling points is that she can jungle with no items whatsoever during downtimes. as a rule of thumb for solo queue pubs , i try to make sure i have wards and smokes bought when they come off cooldown. i don't expect my teammates to be able to use those consumables correctly if at all, even though they're insanely strong. if you've got 3 smokes or 2 wards in stock, you're wasting recharge time.

Appart from trying to make their farm easier, how can impact the game when I'm a poor and underleveled CM ? Make things happen. When you're doing well go pick up that midas. If you cant afford a midas on cm then you didnt do as well as you could've. Do note that when you get a midas on cm you should still be buying wards/detection/smoke/upgraded courier/stuff your team needs. I generally get like tranqs, wand, urn before transitioning into a midas. The idea is that you should just notice "oh I have like 1.9k gold and I'm close to a midas", and not naked midas rush like a carry. Generally you can get the midas at the 18-20 minute mark and you're doing ok.

A null/wraith gives a total of 9 damage, equal only to 2 slipper/mantles + 3 branches. On int heroes i see the mantle approach as superior, agi heroes thou will almost always go for an aquila which makes a wraith better
