ran into a 5stack that waited till we all picked to do one of those (and also lvl1 roshed qq). Do you try to deff 4v5 while 1 farms if 3 is not enough? or give up towers for lvl + farm.

WD, Dazzle and Bristle for a heal squad to make Bristle invincible. They didn't have the best line up, but their push was too strong until we had to defend on our T3s. Our lineup was not the best against this, but the PL pick was perfect for it this time. We lost early game strongly, but defended on T3 until we were farmed and they couldn't push us. Furion seriously threw the game, but even then we had a strong defense from mid to late to ultra late game. This is not the best possible game example, since it is low MMR (mine is around 3.6K), but it illustrates the point well. Basically if you have the late game, defend until you can win. If not, you will have to force teamfights and win then. EDIT: Specially watch the last 15min, I think. Where we defended very well, I (the CM) soloed the Furion twice and even helped defend 2 lanes at once (or almost at once) at the very end. Very good game.

So how do you deal with a Sniper lane? Is it a case where you need to basically kill him/zone him out at level 1 or 2 and never let up the pressure? It seems like once he gets a few levels you can't close the distance to him without losing a ton of your HP.

If you don't manage to stop his tempo and if you don't apply pressure you're screwed. Sniper is a very underrated laner in 1vs1 scenarios and if he's any good you can get really owned. 3k missile speed and fantastic attack animation coupled with headshot mean you're gonna have a bad time. But then again it's sniper, request a gank and he's dead. Low MS, hp and no escape mechanism means he's an easy hero to gank. tldr; just go and kill him

Everyone in the game was like "OMG YOU SUCK HOW DO YOU LOSE A LANE TO SNIPER?!" and I hear this complaint a lot. It's as if I'm missing some key strategy for dealing with the fact that he has infinite range and that ridiculous proc. So how do you deal with a Sniper lane? It seems like once he gets a few levels you can't close the distance to him without losing a ton of your HP. Sniper is one of the easiest heroes to kill once engaged, so tower diving heroes like Balanar could be a good choice. Really there's not a lot most heroes can do to stall his farming in a lane without help, but if you can get some help and kill him a few times, then he becomes the most useless, freefood hero on the enemy team you could ever hope for.

What is "buff grace period" and is it a buff or nerf?

Basically if Legion Commander procs Moment of Courage when she isn't attacking something (e.g. a ranged hero attacking her that she's not in range to hit yet), the proc gets saved for a short period of time and applies the next time she attacks something in that time window. The change means she has 1s to save that Moment of Courage proc, rather than 0.5s.

He becomes progressively harder to manage once he gets levels due to his longer range (just like the others get harder to manage with their increasing damage) but at early levels it's easy to take control of the lane. He basically should not get a lasthit for the first few minutes of the game. Actually sniper with really good good good reactions can get lasthits while projectile from opposition is on it's way to deny, that's it, unless opposition is good enough to pull creeps and last hit right after.

Unfortunately, sniper's range kinda means that most of the time he doesn't want to be in a position where he can easily affect the creep aggro haha. I mean, he certainly *can* stay that close to the creeps but then he isn't necessarily abusing his range advantage. Dota has so many variables and so much skill man.

Does TB want standard illusion carry RoA/drums->diffu or something else? I'm hearing skadi and sny, but I'm not really sure why. Is phoenix a mid? What skills order? Does she need arcanes/bloodstone etc?

Phoenix can mid but is usually off-lane because of how strong and safe she is as an off-laner. Spirits > Sun Ray. Items you should be just getting team items like Urn, Mek, Vlad's, Necro, Sheep, etc. Not sure why you'd want Bloodstone. Lategame luxury item is Refresher because of how it interacts with the CD refresh on your ulti.

I'd try going Treads/Drums/BKB/SnY for a midgame oriented build, or Treads/HotD/Skadi/BKB for a more farming focused games.
