Supports do amazing in lane as a general rule. And pushing is really strong because no one really knows how to farm. CM, venomancer, alchemist generally do really well in these (provided you can trust your team to farm behind the lane win).

The only thing i guess you would have to worry about is him flaking to harass you but shouldnt be enough, especially if u get ur bottle.

And this just happens all the time, you get off 1 or 2 abilities and you are out of mana, but windrunner could do so much more if there was just a bigger mana pool or better mana reg or something.

focus fire is only good on wr if you can get some damage items on her (mkb, daedulus, divine), otherwise its just a luxury skill. dont get into the habit of using it nor relying on it too much.

I picked up the ult at lvl 10 and 11 this is fairly standard. So i stand in front of a tower with creeps to tank it we have vision of the enemy team and you tell me i shouldn't use my ult on the tower because they could start a teamfight in mid and if i tp there to help out i don't have enough mana? i think it is rather a problem with the mana pool / regeneration on the hero and if you go standard phase/mek/forcestaff it just isn't enough.

That's why I get soul ring. While you don't have the hp to spam it in lane, it gives you the burst mana to mek/PowerShot for kills/shackle/escape. It sounds weird, but its been working for me.

In general i think windrunner is just a really weak offlaner compared to bristle, clockwerk, timbersaw, bounty hunter or even a furion. I picked up the ult at lvl 10 and 11 this is fairly standard. So i stand in front of a tower with creeps to tank it we have vision of the enemy team and you tell me i shouldn't use my ult on the tower because they could start a teamfight in mid and if i tp there to help out i don't have enough mana? i think it is rather a problem with the mana pool / regeneration on the hero and if you go standard phase/mek/forcestaff it just isn't enough. are you against a trilane? if not there is no reason for you to spam powershot for cs. you can trade hits very effectively against 1 support, and windrun makes you near unkillable against a duo lane. you should only powershot for creeps in cases where youll miss a creep with right click AND you can hit the opponent with it. if you can get cs as a clock, timber and bounty in any offlane, you can definitely get cs with a windrunner. again, windrunners mana pool and regen isnt the problem. you just need to practice not relying on skills so much and more on your mechanics and positioning. and yes, dont focus fire a tower down just because you can. if its low enough that you can destroy it, destroy it with normal attacks. if its too high that you feel the need to focus fire it, dont make it your aim to bring the tower down at all and make sure youre there for the fight.

I feel that it scales rather bad, with only the damage increasing. I feel like a the effect of a mirana arrow on lvl 1 or lvl 4 isnt much different; it gives you a kill if you have the follow-up, or it doesnt (of course there are some exceptions, like sniping heroes at the back of the fight). If you can leap in and have the points in starstorm instead, you essentially deal the same damage (ok it costs much more mana, maybe this is the reason?), but starstorm gives you greater utility and better (counter-)pushing from my point of view.

It's common to completely delay the ult until you have 4/4/4/0 simply because of how much mana it costs and the low reward you get (WR doesn't do that much autoattack damage early, particularly as offlane/support).

When I was the absolute beginner, I gave myself one simple task - don't die. Which in practice became something like don't die more than 3 or 4 times per game while naturally still contributing as much as possible (disregarding fountain dives/deaths). The more you prioritize staying alive, the more your map and positional awareness improves. It will also encourage a lot of good practices that everyone will tell you to do, but you usually forget when you play (such as carrying tp scrolls, looking at the map, smart warding); as well as smarter itemization. Don't look at your teammates' mistakes, give zero fucks about how bad they are. In any given situation, for every mistake you see in others, you could easily find at least one that you made yourself if you choose to look for it.
