What level do you start roaming, who to target, what to transition into for the mid game, etc? gank when you have nothing to do in your lane. do pulls and gank in the downtime when waiting for neutral creeps to respawn. you can also check runes every 2 mins and if you get a good rune you can take it and make a kill. target whoever you think is going to be instrumental for them to have a good game. there is no lvl you start ganking at, kills can happen from lvl 1. if youre babysitting a hero you may want to not leave the lane at all. make a judgement on whether it will be ok for you to leave the lane and determine whether you get more out of a kill in 1 lane vs secured farm for another

Depends who is where and what's going on and what hero you are.
Enchantress/Chen can gank from the woods at level 1, provided the right creeps and opportunity. CM's level 2 double nuke timing is pretty damn potent, and Lion / shadow shaman's level 2 similarly provides a ton of lockdown. Lvl 1 Veno, provided he's got a setup that ensures he can get in range for gale, makes one heck of a scary gank etc etc etc.
You start roaming whenever your lanemate isn't going to get totally screwed by you doing so, and where you're rotating to a lane that has a higher priority kill than the lane you're rotating from. An example would be if you were a CM/Luna lane against an offlane timbersaw, and your early aggression has for whatever reason caused Timber to take a second point in reactive armour or another point in timber chain at level 3, meaning he has literally no chance of killing your Luna or doing much to scare her off farm while you're gone. And presumably you're rotating into an SF or Invoker or Storm Spirit or other weak-early-but-can-gain-momentum hero that your team would benefit from stopping the momentum of. And hopefully if you're playing a support that's likely to gank, you were smart and started with a smoke.
There's also some emphasis on good aggressive ward placement, because catching people out of position is easier when you can see them being out of position. Placing your second ward aggressively instead of just warding both runes can help you net kills you otherwise wouldn't know about.
And of course having a TP so you can get back to your Luna if she needs you is probably a good idea.

You also shouldn't be roaming unless you're reasonably certain that you can get a kill or you'll be wasting a lot of time. Trying to kill a bristle or wind ranger or bh without detection would likely end up being futile.

How exactly does item destruction work (in-game not cosmetic)? I know gems cannot be destroyed.
-Is destroying items that belong to yourself/allies/enemies the same? -I had a timbersaw destroy my bottle, I believe with his whirling death. I also just had a game where I used tidebringer to splash the magnus but his bottle, which was lying on the ground, was not destroyed. (I don't think he picked it up in time, but not 100% sure, will check replay.)

skills dont destroy items. only normal attacks can do it.

maybe decrepify works on items aswell?

She also adds little as a traditional babysitter and doesn't jungle well compared to some other supports. She also really needs level 11 at least, for the level 2 swap range during midgame, something that can be hard to come by. Her stun is a bit short range with a 500 from the standard 600 but the projectile speed is very good. Why does she need someone to set up her stun for her? She one of the faster support with a speed of 295 (considering that most support are slow as shit with visage at 290, CM at 280, venom at 285). She generally considered more of a roaming support rather then a lane baby sitter. Good vengeful spirit will roam around, particularly mid, for ganks and I thought this was the reason why most team pick her up. The one thing where you're wrong ist that 295 is a good speed. Supports are not made to be slow or slower than non-supports. Lich, Leshrac, Kotl and Bane are with little doubt good as support heroes and they all have 315 movespeed. On the flipside Maiden and Invoker have 280 movespeed. Pudge, Morhpling and Viper have the same 285 as shadow shaman. And it goes on like that. Please don't think in those lines of logic. Dota actually does not have heroes that are supposed to be supports. Merely heroes that are often used as such. My point was that she is one of the faster support with a reliable stun. Which is why she is such a good roaming support. The support I listed are the most commonly picked support atm such as Venom and CM and I was only comparing the movement speed of them to show that vengeful spirit movement speed is faster than the current meta "go to" support. There are exception like Banes but all the fast support such as Lich, Kotl that you listed don't really have any stun. You can argue bane sleep which allow you set up position but isnt the same as a stun but it does have it uses. Leshrac is the only one with the stun and fast movement speed but his stun has a long delay and can't also be reliable especially at low lvl rank when the AOE on it is smaller and harder to land. I do understand that there are strong support that are not really meant to be played as support such as Alchemist which completely over shadows vengeful spirit as a roaming support which is why we probably dont see her as much. I just dont see any situation where I wouldnt pick alchemist over vengeful spirit ever.
She needs a setup because if you simply walk at your opponent, even if you're smoked he still gets a chance to react and simply run away from you. That's not to say it's impossible to gank with her, but the way she works it's just so much mor efficient to have another CC that you follow up with magic missile, or a slow that lets you get in range for sure.
She is slow not simply because her movespeed is slightly below average or on par with a lot of mid heroes/carries etc. But she also doesn't have a slow of her own to help out with that unlike heroes like veno or cm.
She's definitely not terrible or thoroughly outclassed, but she's simply not close to being a top pick solely for ganking, which along with her other deficiencies means she's a lot less versatile and more prone to falling behind or not carrying her own weight in a game.

2) Arcanes are a pretty good choice because your nuke is very spammable yet has a high mana cost. I suppose you could consider Treads for a bit of HP if you have no mana problems (CM/OD on the team or 2 or 3 other Arcanes already).

get arcanes if your team needs one. otherwise stay on naked boots. visage doesnt need to be chasing people a lot with the main hero. grave chill also does wonders for your ms and for opponents slow
why is firebolt mod. 2 mods in this thread now T_T

As sniper, how do you play against an aggressive Kunkka and Ogre Magi on the safelane? Your support is happily jungling on his own and doesn't give a shit or two about you.

You also have to pay attention; whenever Kunkka raises his blade/Ogre Magi walks even a bit forward, retreat to tower territory pronto. Crappy survival from ganks of any kind is probably the reason Sniper is considered a bad hero.
Want to learn offlane bristleback- how should I be playing it, what items should I be aiming for if I got minimal farm from lane pressure? Is vguard a tolerable option on this hero?

Vanguard is absolutely viable on Bristleback in my opinion, I build it every game. Bristleback wants fights to last long in order to get his stacks up, so survivability is key. With Bristleback's damage reduction, his hit points count for more than other heroes', and Vanguard's block, bonus hp and regen all compound that strength. Bristleback is one of the best Vanguard carriers in the game.

And you will cast one W and mek with pt. Not best decision.

Does anyone know why "camera grip" under Controls doesn't work at all?
It's always bound to mouse 3(mouse wheel) for some reason.
|
What do you mean "Doesn't work at all"?
I think that control is what allows you to "grab the ground" and move your screen by moving the mouse yeah? As in, instead of edge panning or whatever.
|
Yes. You set it to Space for example and when Space is pressed and you move your mouse around the camera moves also.
Just like you would hold down mouse button 3/mouse wheel.
I just wanna change the current functionality of mouse wheel to some other key ~
|
So what you are saying is you can't rebind it or it doesn't work when rebound or what?
You aren't doing a good job of contrasting "expected outcome" and "current outcome".
I mean, it works for me. Unless this patch broke it.
E: try console level binding?
