X marks the spot at rank 2 has a 2 second delay on return, and Torrent has a 1.6 second delay, so they're a natural setup. You can follow with boat if you're casting from the correct distance. ...other than that, I'm not sure what combos you're referring to. If you have X rank 4, you can X->Boat the same way you'd X->Torrent with rank 2.
If you have X rank 3, you can Ship->X->Torrent.

Spirit Breaker can only ever charge you if he has vision of you, so if you don't have a good idea of where is (through the minimap), then you off the map farm in the jungle/ancients. Set up your farming rotation so that you avoid his ganks and make him waste time with unprofitable charges. If you can stubbornly hold onto towers for as long as possible (without giving away too many kills), that's also a decent way to "counter Spirit Breaker". The more map control you have against Spirit Breaker, the more space you have to farm since your team should be providing TP support. If you're really at a level where people don't carry tp's around on their own initiative, then you can also smoke and use 1 person as bait. Just farm safely, and learn what you can get away with. Clear waves as quickly as possible, then duck out of sight/tp away until you know an area of the map is safe again. Interesting. Spirit Breaker has suddenly gone in my mind from a game-breakingly OP hero to one who's a bit of a pussy and not on the same level as most other carries.

Well, for one he's not a carry. In fact, in a proper match I could see him as a 3 even a 4. His stuns are still massively valuable against magic immune opponents. But is damage falls off badly and in the lategame, you want the farm on someone who can utilize it more.

Does Ship->X-Torrent not work at X rank 2? The ship can hit anywhere from 2.4->~4 seconds and still get the stun (.4s animation on casting X, 2s for activation, then 1.53 sec disable under torrent) so that seems like it'd be enough.

The problem with Ship X Torrent @ X level 2 is that due to the casting range of X they can run TOWARDS you and the ship won't hit.

So by the time you get in range for X too much time has elapsed for it to be reliable? I didn't properly consider the range increase so it explains a lot.

Well, you need some kind of fog to set it up or else the ranges basically don't work yah.
As in, If I boat first at a point where boat will hit him, then he can run away before I can X him due to X range (unless I'm in fog). If I X->torrent->Boat, then he can run towards me post-torrent and dodge boat.
Its kinda messed up. Practice games with a friend are probably better for understanding the nuances than discussions on the internet.

Is armlet on morphling ever worth getting over another item?

Morph lacks a way to properly regenerate the HP lost for activating armlet over long periods of time without paying in damage (morhping strength) at which point activating armlet becomes useless since you gave up the only benefit it really provides.
However, max-agi morphling armlet toggles are seriously baller. I saw korok showing off on stream with it once and it was sick to watch. Plus at max agi with armlet on you are kinda a DPS machine with more survivability than you would think. You just rely on your opponents not punishing you (lol).
There are too many other items that synergize too well with his skill set for armlet to be legit on him.

If you get a MKB ministun and a time lock on the same hit then you'll get the bonus damage from both yes. The MKB stun is "wasted" since the time lock stun lasts longer though as the stuns do not have additive stacking. Ok thanks for the response, I'm assuming MKB works and skullbasher doesn't because of how long the stun on skullbasher is?
You aren't allowed to have multiple bashes in dota because it was in the game awhile back and it was stupid (void, troll, slardar, etc cannot buy skull basher since they have a passive bash skill). The bash that MKB does is a ministun so it doesn't break this rule (even though technically it is a bash).
Overlapping stuns doesn't provide any benefit and bash refreshing was fixed from the wc3 engine because it was terrible.

Which offlaners fare the best in a 1v1 lane vs Bristle? How about non-offlaners? Besides hexing him, how do you deal with him for the rest of the game?
|
timbersaw is great against all strength heros in the ofllane because of the stat penalty of his whirling death. you should be able to kill him at 6.

I personally always get 2/4/3, 3points into X after 2 torrents. The 3 points into X is essential as it gets longer range and I can control the return of the heroes with my torrent easily enough.

Just dont hit him in fights, he is weak and deals quite low damage when you dont hit him. Burst his team down, then drive him out of combat (if you can turn him face to you, he will just melt in seconds, batrider, axe are good for this) and just push towers(rax) down. Dont chase him, just kill buildings.

what are the reasons to get a Skadi? and when? (an incredibly general question, I know)
|
Hmm.. Skadi does a couple of things. It gives a metric crapton of stats, and it gives a BKB piercing slow on your attacks. Because of this it really benefits those that need stats stats and more stats (Ie. morphling) and it especially helps ranged carries kite BKB users like ursa. On the other hand, it's awfully expensive and the buildup is pretty crappy. You'd have to judge if you can stand farming for that long to get it. I'd say it's usually better off as a late game situational choice.

You'd think this was a general question, but skadi is such an unused item its valid.
Skadi has a poor buildup, hugely expensive, and the orb effect isn't the greatest in teamfights. Stats are decent, but they're scattered over all 3 of them instead of one or two like you'd want on most heroes. it is the only orb effect that stacks with lifesteal, but its just not enough considering the drawbacks.
A hero that does benefit from it is Slark. Due to his abilities, he benefits greatly from an orb of venom, and can then transition without too much problems into an Eye of Skadi if he gets off to a decent start.
Other heroes that could use one, if other people on your team have other orb items you might want instead like a desolator, might be QoP and morphling.
