A hero getting Orchid virtually always is one that uses BOTH components, whereas Hex can typically be bought solely for the active, the active on Orchid does not justify that because it's weaker. Virtually all Orchid users buy one with the intent of utilizing all aspects of the item.

Orchid is for example much more cost-efficient DPS for an int hero than e.g. a MKB (ignoring the true strike proc) and that is neither taking the manaregen nor the active in account. Just plain straight up DPS. If you're an int hero that likes to autoattack and needs a pure dps item Orchid is already a great option. The active and the manaregen are the bonus you get on top of that. Enchantress is probably the hero that likes all of the above.

The problem with enchant is that the first thing she needs is to provide good support, then she needs HP then you can think about damage, agha provides HP and damage. On solomid enchant I always get orchid though.

What I'm getting at, is what is the specific synergy that CK has with wisp that say, PA or alchemist or AM or any other melee carry doesn't? First off chaos knight has an amazing, potentially, 4 second stun. That alone is very good for a ganker. Then his nr 2 ability always lands him behind the enemy. When you're tethered to someone who's behind the enemy, they get stunned. So basically you have the ability to dish out 6.25 seconds of stun, and a ton of damage because chaos knight kinda does that as well ![]() Other carries either require you to run behind your target to tether stun, or they don't have a second stun on their own.

When tether is active, reality rifting target will cause it to be stunned by tether, follow that up with ck stun and target is more likely dead.

At it's most basic, the reason is that CK's reality rift virtually guarantees that wisp's tether stun will land immediately. Turning tether into a reliable stun like that is very desirable. This allows him to maximize his time right clicking enemies and in general is the most powerful interaction with tether available before blink dagger (phase boots PA is similar but requires a bit more work). Other notes: 1) CK is extremely mana-strained when not simply farming. Wisp's shared regen greatly relieves this. 2) CK has no way to "flash farm" so as a "carry" he generally has to spend a LOT of time in lane/jungle just right clicking creeps. Wisp provides him with a way to maximize farm time and always be at fights at a moment's notice. 3) CK doesn't really scale all that insanely late game if your opponents can AoE down your illusions. Wisp's overcharge ensures that even disregarding his ulti he can go toe-to-toe with other carries 4) CK provides an excellent "follow up stun" to complement the tether stun, which means VERY few enemies can survive a wisp+CK global TP gank unless they have a way to get out before the wisp relocate completes. Plus probably some other stuff that I'm forgetting. Tether making CK run fast helps although he is already quite a fast hero by himself. PS: Wisp + AM is fine but AM doesn't really need the mobility advantage wisp provides. His blink works well with tether in lane but he mostly wants to blink around splitpushing and farming, something that wisp doesn't help with much.

Wisp + Tiny is also a common pairing, and was used quite often during TI2 and the months following TI2. Alliance has run Wisp + PA and Wisp + Riki in the past, and EG used to use Wisp + Sven occasionally.

That's merely one of a plethora of reasons force staff is a good item. Generally you will already pair wisp with someone who can abuse your tether anyway though (ck with reality rift, morphling with waveform, ursa with blink, etc.).

It doesnt really work in competitive games as you do not wanna throw your wisp onto a tri lane. Still a hilariously bursty combo.

Probably not advisable in pub games unless you have a ranged carry or something to support(or roam). On alch urn, medallion and mek are good items. Don't know on sven because he really doesn't shine as a support. But mana boots and urn would be a good start.
