Normally only Furion and Spectre have the ability to join a fight at will. This is huge. The only other hero who allows global map presence to his teammates is Pit Lord. And Pit Lord is not in CM currently, despite being in the game as long as TA and Huskar. edit: I am not actually up to date on Dota 1, so I might have outdated information regarding CM

He's a good hero at lower MMR where people don't really know how to deal with you in fights (you can just dive towers all day long with ult).

Also saying he's good at lower MMR and not higher is pretty ridiculous, he has the best support skill in the game, reliable low cooldown heal and he cannot be instafocused like most supports.

It's not like he's had a huge remake recently o_O Also saying he's good at lower MMR and not higher is pretty ridiculous, he has the best support skill in the game, reliable low cooldown heal and he cannot be instafocused like most supports. He is in captain's mode. He just hasn't been added to dota2 captains mode because he was just released. Considering how many bugs on the bugs list right now he holds a similar fate to Elder Titan.

The fact that he's melee without any ranged cc makes it really awkward to set up good lanes, and he needs a LOT of exp to be effective with both nuke + shield. Sure he might make a niche counterpick vs bat for example, but all too often you just get counterpicked with shadow demon or OD or someone on the other team just buys a eul's and you become pretty useless. I don't think that he's necessarily a BAD support, but there are a lot of ways to deal with him once you know how, and he's strongest in lower MMR where people don't necessarily understand how to shut him down.

A different form of bkb. Against bat or bane his shield is better than omni. He also has a higher heal/second

Is there heroes that I should (if not, must) learn? I feel like I play a weird set of characters (Spirit Breaker, Bounty Hunter and Juggernaut).

I feel like learning a hero like QoP/Windrunner teaches people a lot about dota. However, there is nothing to say that you can't just play whatever random heroes you like (seems like melee in this case). Its pub dota, relax and have fun.

I'd say there are about 102 heroes that you need to learn what they can do. What heroes you want to learn to play on the other hand is entirely up to you. Only when the times comes where you start looking for, or have already found, a team, would I start practicing specific heroes because its needed rather than what I enjoy the most.

His passive ability is better in dota and his ult auto casts at a certain health threshold
