hooooooooly shit LanM

I do see them having trouble fighting Secret or EG still. The players on Secret and EG are so experienced they can function autonomously, wherease for EHOME LanM kind of has to tell everyone what to do constantly for things to happen. In that case I expect them to lose in that regard.

But still, impressive showing today, hopefully they can take down OG later!!

Game 2 draft was beautiful. The heals, the tank, the DPS, the anti magic. Beautiful push strat. If Vici had a real carry hero though...

Ehome wins the finals of the Radiant&Dire Cup 2-1 over CDEC.Youth. Draft higlights were Timbersaw, Kunkka and Pugna.
Kaka also proves himself as the best Earth Spirit in China.

In other news, ehome withdrew from the Starladder/i-League finals in Minsk.

That sucks, would of been cool to see them play more international competition. Congrats on their victory.

Sad thing for ehome and for viewers is that ehome is likely to unspctacularly lose the grand finals. I mean that always happens, they perform so well but somehow gets stomped due to strange drafts when they're the favourites. Heh

that's a normal trend for chinese teams though. china has lots of players who work hard and have skill, but there aren't many smart captains

europe has lots of smart captains but not as many next level players

this is because the west values creativity and artistry, and the east values being a robot

Now I wish this forum had an ignore feature. Your post says you don't know who the captain is so you can only rely on generalizations.

Only captain in China that draft smartly is Lanm imo. The rest tend to be inflexible and safe in their drafts, often overusing the same strategies without considerations, or just blindly following the meta. This is fine though if your 1 strategy is so powerful like how Alliance (2013) and OG (Frankfurt) drafted (maybe newbee 2014 too, though I never taken a good look at their overall draft), but if you don't have a good formula then you just get exploited.

fy does cool drafts now and then. He is able to switch and use a wide variety of strategies. I like him, but chokes and reverts to conservative ways in important games way too often.

rotk's spectacular TI4 grand final quick loss was down to sheer stubbornness in draft. He pretty much did the same thing in LGD too.

q has not changed a single thing despite the new patches since TI5.

lanm plays around with the drafts alot, and is willing to use unconventional heroes like abba or pugna, sometimes doing crazy push strats too. He is imo the most flexible and open minded Chinese drafter.

isn't it not even lanm drafting at this tournament

@lich I'm sorry you can't appreciate the artistry in my posting

since you brought up fy and rotk, it's interesting to note how they are nearly polar opposites.

fy is an extremely skilled player, and a lot of his drafts want to simply outplay you. e.g. nightstalker. this is a weakness because a lot of times his picks are not theoretically solid, such as nighstalker, or the 10% winrate support earthshaker

rotk, on the other hand, generally does not feel like outplaying you but wants to find systems where they can win just by being solid

and so on

ig's super is supposed to be a really smart person but it seems he hasn't found a way to make that team win i was rootin' for them

just because old chicken is the drafter doesnt mean that lanm does not influence certain picks (lc, pugna come to mind). i feel like they wanted to share responsibility to keep the team calm

on the note of newbee 2014. xiao8 is a conservative drafter himself but i think his mid and lategame shotcalling is what makes him and his drafts so good
