They actually have a game every day or 2 .....

They kinda had it hard as either NiP or Asus are better than NaVi right now, you cant do too much agaisnt that
I dont think anyone should be surprised
Secret and NiP/ASUS/c9 were always the favorites

I dont like dendi drafts but phobos just joined, give it a couple of weeks and see how they are doing then.

I don't disagree with the draft. I see where Navi was going, when NiP 4th picked CK, it didn't matter who they went, CK/Tiny, either one was going to be a monster to deal with late game. So the idea behind Navi's draft was huge early game right click due to drow aura, push fast and give CK no time to get big.
I don't dislike the idea, just didn't work out.

I'm still waiting for the day when teams will start picking 4 ranged with drow + 1 beefy frontline like tide / bristle / cent etc. Put a tide in that game instead of the offlane morph and no matter how behind Na'Vi were during early game, there is no way NIP could take a 5v5 fight until at the very least both Bristle and CK had a BKB.

I guess that even counter strategies should be practiced. No matter how good can that sound, if the players are not so sure what to do and when to do it, it can end either way.
I still remember a time when Dendi described a specific strategy they once tried, with specific minutes and seconds when they should be doing one thing and they couldn't do it in time and it all fell apart.
Anyway, I hope Dendi doesn't stop drafting. Even if it means they sucking bad for a long time. I wish he could grow as a better drafter and captain. But it is all up to him.

It might be time to bring ArtStyle back... it's not clear what other option Na'Vi have. They're definitely going to have to go through the qualifiers for TI5, and their chances of winning over the likes of NiP/Polar are very slim right now.

The Na'Vi roster needs to move forward, not backward.

The ArtStyle that still owes Na'Vi $20,000 or w/e from TI1 yeah i'm sure they'll rehire him rofl

They need to just hunker down , train hard get their confidence back and try and get better (and most likely it wont be enough), I dont see any 1 player switch that can elvate them into Tier 1 , surely not artstyle....

But you have Alliance's example, which seems to be what everyone uses now, after several months of sucking real bad, not even Na`Vi level of bad but real real real bad.

Their roster is fine now, they have shown good play even in their losses. Just give them a week or two of practice with this lineup.

It's a matter of getting down to the grind. Dendi's drafts will be sink or swim. No idea what is going on with in-game leadership. But there is no reason this roster can't be first-rate. It's just a question of whether it will.
Of course, a good coach wouldn't hurt.

I don't doubt they have the capability to improve given they practice. The real question is whether they will actually do it, and how motivated they are. Their morale must be low now, sadly.

What they should do imho is to not follow a patchmeta blindly, but just create their own. Dendi pudge, bloodseeker/lifestealer xvost etcetc. If envy can play TB every game then dendi may play pudges.

For once I'm gonna be a bit more skeptical about Navi's chances in the future. I mean from what I've seen from their recent games they seem to play a lot better, have way better early game with good rotations. But at some point (~30mins into the game) they have some kind of breakdown. I'm not sure how they're actually making calls, but if it's Dendi, it feels like when things aren't going well he tilts and then he can't really lead anymore. I hope they can train their coordination, have more solid drafts and better gameplan overall, but I'm afraid that without a solid leadership, they can't be a solid team capable of insane comebacks, and not falling under heavy pressure.
Or I'm completely wrong, Dendi isn't even leading ingame, but they had very suspicious moves in the game they lost.
|
The dumb moves they are making seem to be stemming from the fact that they are not always on the same page as to whether they should fight or flee etc, and their confidence is simply non-existent. There's been tons of situations where they should definitely had been taking fights head on but instead just scatter and give up kills / objectives because of it. They really need to stop looking behind, stop worrying about roster changes / disbands / whatever doom and gloom predicted, and simply play the game.
