Man - that first game against LGD.CDEC was amazing! I'm really digging this new Na'vi, they have great synergy. Funnik and Dendi are AMAZING players - and coupled with aggressive supports like VS/Skywrath they're doing a REALLY great job.
Looking forward to these guys throughout the rest of the year!
I think it's too early to really judge. EG has been together longer then most of these teams on LAN.
As far as I know, correct me if I got the info wrong, Na'Vi was a last minute invite weren't they? Given that this line-up hasn't played much of any hard teams yet I'm not surprised. Losing to EG and C9 isn't anything to be upset about especially since both of those teams hasn't changed.
Losing your long time captain is a huge change, even if they are now having fun. Maybe in a month or two when the new patch comes and they are still not doing well against top teams, then we can worry. Until then, I'd just enjoy the show.
P.S. Reading anti-Na'Vi fans posting on GosuGamers and JoinDota are funny as hell fyi. "I dislike Na'Vi! They're going to disband!" lol dumbasses.

Actually both EG and C9 have changed, they've both got 1 different player.

2>1 still; and those teams didnt switch in playstyle as heavily as navi did. i didnt get to see any navi games so i dont know if they played good or bad, but they at least won some games on a lastmin invite, hoping they can keep going getting stronger
Na`Vi is surpassing my expectations quite a bit already, I don't expect them to suddenly be the best team in Dota again but I think that theyl improve enough to become a top contender in no-time a gain.
I'd like to rewind to where I expressed skepticism about these roster changes magically making everything better. Obviously I am biased as I think XBOCT's time is past and wanted to see Puppey and Kuroky stay and feel as though they had to kick them to make him happy. So everyone was excited because Na'Vi was whooping on Tier 2/3 teams and basically going "Puppey/Kuroky who" but this was the level of competition at which Na'Vi was being judged before and they haven't yet proven they can compete at that level yet.
Obviously I want to see them succeed but it's a good cautionary note next time you feel too excited about a team's performance.
Again, them losing to EG and C9 isn't a surprise. I don't understand why people believe this just going to be how they are. They didn't prepare for WEC, last minute replacement for Puppey's team. As Kip said above, I'm impressed already just how much better they look. That's more then enough for me.
Obviously I'd love for them to win, but EG and C9 currently has a hand up in most competitions simply because they haven't changed. Fear isn't a replacement, he has been with the team since the beginning. C9 replacing SingSing with someone who is roughly the same isn't going to change them either. All of the Chinese teams changed, Newbee losing didn't surprise me. Xaio8 isn't someone you simply replace on a team without consequence, look at LGD.
It'll be the same for Na'Vi for awhile. Puppey might have his faults for not listening when he should, being stubborn in drafts at times but he was the tactical genius of the team and their pass successes are contributed to him and his calls. That isn't something you replace, even if FNG is good enough to be that replacement. But, 1 thing that matters is happiness, making you enjoy the game.
That's is what the change was for. Hvost said it in the interview with Hot_bid. And I for one wasn't surprised. Just think about the change, this was going to be hard for people regardless. Do you kick Hvost, and very much risk losing Dendi as well? Or do you kick Kuro and lose Puppey? The entire line-up this time was centered around friends, and when they stopped having fun and just started despising each other, you kick one and you risk losing another.
I didn't like the change, but this is about the team and their success. And they didn't have any nearly this entire year. Everyone knew it was coming.
Certainly if your calculus is that kicking XBOCT means losing Dendi then it was the right choice. I don't think that is what would have happened: I think Dendi is more loyal to the organization and interested in competing than he is attached to XBOCT. As I said elsewhere, I recognize that this change was to sate XBOCT, but that's not satisfactory if you think he's the problem, as I do. Not just from a performance standpoint, but from a team chemistry standpoint. I think if you remove XBOCT there are no more chemistry issues. My impression of him is that he is unprofessional as a competitor and spoiled, and if he could not so easily depend on the organization to take care of him he might have worked things out with the previous roster.
I admit these conclusions require my various premises to be correct, but that's where I am with it. More to the point I was making (and I believe we beat the roster decision factor to death): one shouldn't take performance against bad teams as validation for the changes that were made. That was happening and considering any good fan should have appreciated the players we lost, it seems disrespectful.
I said some times above I respect your position with Hvost but I won't continue this conversation. It's pretty much beating the issue with a stick. Everyone has their own opinion with Hvost, he is very much hated or loved like EE, sooo. But I do like where the team is finally going, albeit when they lose, it's so much like a typical CIS pubstack team is just creepy.
I'll just end by saying, Kipsate is right and that's where I stand with the team so far. I'll start judging when the new balance patch comes out. But until then, I'm just going to see how they do and just go from there.
P.S. I do a lot of times want to just scream at Hvost for being stupid though, so we probably have that in common. lol
Meh, ill wait a couple of months and a balance to judge the new NaVi line up, they need time, especially considering how different are Kuro/Puppey to FNG/Vanskor in playstyle
So they were on the schedule for a game a couple of days ago but probably postponed due to WEC travel, now they are in Moscow for some reason and I don't know when they're playing just know I watched four losses in a row and my football team lost this week and I want some new games dammit. And Dendi has been pubbing but never streaming. My life is like a fart.

Their Facebook page said Bootcamp for Dreamhack.
I don't know how it is in CIS but Facebook as a primary method of updates is kinda 2010. I follow them on Twitter and did not know this. Oh well.

They keep their Facebook updated for their international fans. They post game statuses, giveaways, etc. They probably have one of the most active FB pages in the community with iG.

Yeah that's fine and all and even great for people who use Facebook but you should still have at least a reliable news feed coming from Twitter at a minimum. That is what a lot of people expect from an official Twitter account now. In any case, here is an interview with FNG same time frame as the above interview. The subs are desynced and I don't know where a transcript is but the interview exists:
[Edit] There is a lot about Puppey in this interview, after about the first third I'd say.
When asked who they would prefer not to play against later in the tournament:
I would prefer not to play against the Americans (EG, C9). Their style is always beyond understanding.
Nothing really new there given the last few months but sure hope they figure it out soon, not going to win anything if Na'Vi can't learn how to compete against those two teams.
