Shaella's a massive Bulba hyperfanboy. I've never really understood why but there's not much point arguing.
Bulba certainly could step up. It's true that he's never been on a team of this calibre before, and it's also true that universe wasn't a superstar until he joined EG.
However, it's very hopeful to conclude that Bulba will. At best he's been given the chance of his career and has to prove that he deserves it.

luckily dota is not all about mechanical skill... as i agree that zai has the highest potential between the two of them when it comes to pure skill and mechanics. as ive said before, im really curious to see how well bulba can do now, given the chance of his life. he is really good at dota, and he takes the game very seriously... I can see him being the guy practicing 12-14 houres a day next months.
and ofc, gonna be really exciting to see what a new patch brings... what heroes are going to be picked on the offlane etc.

not saying that bulba can't possibly perform especially now he's with a legit team
even though i have low expectations with bulba players can certainly improve so lets see

I think Bulba is on par with Universe. I've always thought his play was stronger than the teams he has been on. And if you don't remember, Moon and Fly(?) LOVED Bulba at Summt 4.

surely in jest, because (no sources) I'm fairly certain moon has some sort of beef with him. you know those players and casters who get on your nerves for a while? everyone has those. I don't remember what made me feel this way but there were a few small conflicts involving bulba.
regardless if we don't see any offlaner choke, it'd be wonderful to see other kinds of offlane heroes played. bulba can surely bring that to the table. just don't pick OD to builds manta, then lose, lol. had the displeasure of watching bulba play one of those in pubs.

It's really a matter of what the next patch & meta bring for the offlane. (I believe both Manila & TI will be on 6.87, correct?) This patch had the Bulldog-style being dominant at the beginning, but then settling into a "what didn't get banned?" state where the offlane approach could be very different just because of the banning phase.
Universe had problems, especially at Starladder 13, when he needed to play the Bulldog-style of 1/2 carry from the offlane. But by Shanghai, he had drastically improved in that split-push or secondary carry role. So where Universe is the true MVP-level of play is when it's a hard teamfighting meta. We'll just have to see what the next patch brings and who adjusts well.

Invoker is going down for sure , OD might get hammered as well , those 2 heroes dominate the pro and pub scene WAY too much , I feel like NP will get his trees scaled down as well , and maybe , maybe Storm will be playable again , EG only needs a little buff to make him OK to be able to run it , same as Alliance has Bat/Puck mid again although almost no one plays them , they run it very well. Hope to see EG do well and crush Secret !

all icefraud has to do is buff clockwerk :^)

Clock + Storm buff = EG winning TI? ;-)

So when is EG's first match with thew new roster?

EE just said Bulba's probably the best offlaner in the world right now, as long as he doesn't choke at LANs
Bulba > Zai and Universe and Ice3 confirmed.

Biryu is also very young. EE saw potential in him to be god tier.
EDIT: Why are we arguing about this anyways? These players are way better than anyone who posts here, so the argument for "you are bad" "or he is bad and shouldnt be on this team" is invalid. While everyone is entitled to their own opinions, unless we are pro players , none of us have any idea what goes on behind the scenes or why certain players are chosen over others (which means a lot of our opinions are unfounded). Just sit back and enjoy the show and enjoy the professional play.

Must be the reason he took Universe in his team instead of him
