Sad that ESL was a dissapointement, but it was not very surprising... Guys havent been playing alott of Dota i suppose, atleast not anything near Vega. Vega been playing like two bo3 for 2 weeks or so, and against strong teams.
EG will need some official games to find theier mojo...

it's eg man i never get surprised when they show a disappointing performance cause they do that from time to time but they almost always deliver when the important series comes anyways

although if you meant winning 2 TI's that maybe very unlikely since every TI happens yearly i feel like so much happens every year that unless your team has super synergy for a long time and the team managed to fix their internal shits everytime they encounter 1

The only way i see EG not coming back to their level its

A) internal problems (i doubt it)
B) some key player leaves the team

otherwise i dont think theres any reason to overreact, yes, they played awfully bad against Vega, but Vega is seriously no free pass (ask iG and Secret).

I think everyone hating on EG is oblivious to how tournaments work. For example you go to Starcraft 2 you have different tournaments like when I was following it MLG and huge GSL best in the world players would come and lose to guys you had never heard of who were making a huge name for themselves. A lot of reasons for why this occurred and still does occur, despite SC 2 being a more consistent game meta than dota. Its because of tournament format. The international is similar to the GSL you have a lot of time to study and take in a lot of replay analysis to really know your opponent and play style picking pool and so on. Where as ESL one its on the spot quick draw and right after rooster changes and a new patch. Give it time and they will be back wrecking everything. Also they lost the to team that won the whole tournament that's worth noting since this round of 8 game could have easily been a grand finals.

Vega had the run of the week that everyteam has once in a while (assuming their stability won't last and that;s only during esl) has where they beat everybody or at least almost everyone but yeah they won so EG fought against a tough opponent which is ok. I mean i've seen eg lose to not today 2-0 before lmao but that didn't stop them from winning and running deep on the next tournaments to follow.

Friday at MLG. The format is okay for them - EG does best in long tournaments with a big group stage and a losers bracket, where they can adapt. There is a reason why Day 1 EG is a meme.
