I highly doubt this has anything to do with why Fear is playing support, I can't see the difference being all that significant. If his arm is bad enough that he supposedly can't play a certain role, how is he going to continue hoping that he can play another? It doesn't make any sense to me.

Imagin that, being fan of a Dota team because of the Dota they play. What a crazy notion. If you can't handle a player being traded for a better player then you can't follow any sport at all because that's the case in every singel one of them.

I'm a fan of EG because They are my "home team" being US based. In SC2 they had some of my favorite players in Idra, Demuslim, and Machine They would put out more content than any other team They treated their players well When I transitioned over to Dota it was only natural that I'd stick to rooting for EG. Then I discovered how awesome Fear was and how entertaining Demon was so I enjoyed continuing to root for them despite the team sucking. I'll root for EG no matter if they're playing like absolute shit or if they're winning TIs because I love the team and I like the players

Im not going to name anything because in probably every case but this one there is a legit reason. Wanting to "play with mah buddy instead" is a dumb one and shouldn't be encouraged. Tossing Aui aside like he is dirt after he won them the TI final is such a trash move.

What makes you say it was because "wanting to play with mah buddies", and not that they may have had internal issues between some players and/or thought they could do better with Arteezy? Also, Aui didn't win them the TI final -- The entire team did.

Hell, Arteezy didn't even stop hanging out with the EG crew after he left the team.

This is going to be a big and ultra competitive year of Dota with the majors and lots of money on the line. Everybody will be looking to put together the best team possible. I'm just glad that EG made their move now so Aui has time to find another team. The backlash is what you are supposed to get when you have fans and make unpopular decisions. Entertainment enterprises don't get to only have upsides.

I mean I do care about the players, but that's still tied to me liking how they play and being invested in watching them for so long. I'm never going to like an athlete or gamer based on how friendly I think they are. We as spectators know fuck all about them.

"this is not what being a fan really means" is a bold semantic assertion people can be fans for whatever reason, being a fan is simply liking and favoring a team i think you mean "i personally don't find that a good reason to be a fan"

You need it usually to become a captain, the subsets of shot caller or drafter and nothing he has said in the past makes me think he's humble. He's definitely not an ass like RTZ or as brash as Sumail, if we're going to talk about degrees of humility; but he definitely has an ego.
