Best I can think of, is that EG plans to participate (e.g. make it through NA qualifiers) in DreamLeague (a major), which starts on Dec 1st.

Ahh i see, maybe some other tournaments might be around in November time too which they want in on. I think Dota Pit is start of November.

So many tournaments though! I guess as long as it isn't a major if they don't want to go they wont.

I love it! I do not remember seeing this many EG games in such a short span.

Well heres another new thing. EG obviously isn't directly invited to Dotapit, which they won. Has thius caused bas blood or something I mean they werent even invited to the quals unless they tried and EG turned it down or something I mean I know I'm just speculatin but would you blame EG if they did feel a bit dissed that they werent given the D.I.?

I don't think EG can afford another year where they just sit around all fat and happy just cherry picking what events the might grace with their presence. They need to find that hunger that once drove them and go out there and reinvent their game or something. Maybe reinvent is too strong but definitely reinvigorate.

It's interesting for sure, that's dota pit which is a great event in split as they have been to it multiple times and perfect world shanghai in November it seems they have not decided to play in.

So October they have 2 lans, and November 0 so far.

Again, I feel as though you're jumping the gun.

This is a decision by EG to play in every Major, because that is where TI points are going to be won, while not getting bogged down by fatigue.

There are 16 minors! EG has chosen not to play in 2.

Quite frankly, if a team played in every major (11), that is still about double the tournaments they have played in the previous year.

Dont you think they should be working as hard as possible to "find themselves" right now?

what makes you think they aren't doing just that as we speak?

I feel like ur trying to build drama that isnt needed around EG. They are already playing better with every series. They will lose some games, even to lesser teams, thats a part of Dota. As long as they keep improving, and turn the heat on when it counts, they will be fighting to win majors.
And dont forget, theier ultimate goal is TI8, and thats 10 still months away...

I just think it's good to use the qualifiers as a form of practice and with the sheer amount of lans, that if you don't go to at least 90% of them you are going to sell yourself short in terms of points gained right.
Let's say EG win the minor in Bucharest but crash out 5-8th in Hamburg they are already on less points and have then missed 3 other lans too during that time.

Yes EG have played more games, but they wont physically play more series this season probably due to every tournament is 8 teams only thus less games. I just don't want them to miss judge the importance of the tournaments early on, but i guess they have seen the schedule and know which tournaments they want in on, but if you mistake the qualifier and don't get in before you know it your struggling and trying to go to other lans you didn't want to go to in the first place xd

I get the not going to China for a minor though, that makes alot of sense, but the Split lan is great, no problems i have ever heard from that one. It's in a great hotel and stuff and EG have done well there in the past too!

Oh well :D

Yeah I do kinda wonder why EG is missing from the DotaPit quals (or even not a DI, cos they won the last DotaPit; although TL and Newbee justifies themselves as TI Winner and Runner Up respectively).

Yeah the lans after these coming up might see Liquid and Newbee not get invited anymore? Like if they bomb out of all 3?

I have no idea other than someone specifically not wanting to go through qualifiers / accept the invite.

Generally the invites for most LANs through the end of the year and possibly Jan/Feb are set already. I'd expect Liquid to get invites through then in any Western tournament; Newbee any Eastern.

Well, when is the LAN and what LANs are they already going to? Scheduling tournaments is something EG has done for years.

Im not sure what to call it, but there has been some tension between EG and PPD after a recent interview Peter did with Thorin

I didnt get to see the interview myself yet, but I understand its about Sumails motivation and dedication etc.
Some of the things PPD said has gotten some attention and responses from Sumail:
https://www.reddit.com/r/DotA2/comments/72ym7n/sumail_firing_shots/
https://mobile.twitter.com/SumaaaaiL/status/913194368139272192

Its worth noting that PPD also mentions that he loves building up narratives and rivalries... is PPD secretly masterminding and helping EG get to fighting shape again with this?

To be fair, community blew what PPD said out of proportion. It seems like reddit likes drama and spins every story that way, even if there is not much to the drama. Yes, Sumail felt targeted, i would feel the same way if someone targets me in the interview that would be seen by a lot of people. I remember that Aui also talked in the interview with DotP when he joined EG for the second time about Sumail's lack of motivation, so that wasn't that much of a secret, and maybe that was the time when disagreements between PPD and Sumail started.

I feel like todays interview that Phil did with BTS explaned and cleared a lot of things, so for the people that want to know whole story, i suggest them to watch both interviews before forming opinion and attacking any person.

I agree, it was not that dramatic.
