The qualifiers being so soon after Manila is what makes this really interesting. Though I have a hard time seeing EG not make top2 (or whatever the amount of qual slots is) in the NA quals. Secret is more up in the air, not sure if they have announced which quals they are playing, but their performance with the Universe&Rtz roster was so questionable that we'll have to see whether they can get back on track quickly or not.

I would rather they bailed on Nanyang championship and went to the two lans in US in BTS and StarLadder. Mainly as BTS is so laid back it will just be a nice casual scrim weekend. Then StarLadder to see where they are at before Ti6.

This lineup just made the last 2 months of suffering worth it. Seriously the dream EG lineup.

I wish for the same, but I guess they already commited to Nanyang and cant bail on it.
Sounds better for me also to stay in the US for the two lans there, play the quals and have a long as possible bootcamp before TI6.
Im so happy zai is back, was heartbreaking to see him in Secret, I didnt have the same feeling with rtz being there... Not to hype him up 2 much, but he feels like one of the better players around when he is in shape. And as already stated, he pulls of some sick shit on stream, the way he calculates dmg and movement sometimes is just insane to me :D

I didn't realize the SL/i-League was going to be played in the States. But they haven't listed where in the States yet. It's kind of a big country?

I would assume EG will get an invite. Whether they accept is a different issue.

Wow this lineup is the best possible 5 you can hope for going into TI6. Such a feeling of dread going into open qualifiers where 1 weird game can send them packing, but once they're through opens I think the bo3 qualifiers will be a pushover for these guys.

Weird season... really hoping things can come together, would love to see this lineup compete on the big stage to defend their title.

quals are scarier than TI honestly. If this team goes TI I can see top 6 pretty easy, and that's enough to be considered successful to me. For quals they barely have enough time to practice and get comfortable with the meta, so one surprise outdraft like a random 5th pick morph, husk, etc can end it in bo1.

Zai has quite a strong ability to quickly understanding though so he can help give input, and Fear is godly veteran leadership as carry in lategame. (edit: also I expect Universe to be quite pissed at himself and have renewed vigor to be the best after his performance in Secret.)

Satisfied with lineup, but skeptical going into NA quals.

Finally an EG roster that "feels right". I somehow didn't really dig Aui and Bulba in EG - even though I like both of them I don't think they're a good fit for this particular team.

Yep, they're too nice and EG is the team of stone cold badasses.

EG going through qualifiers will give then so much experience playing together as a team, I'm confident that when ti roles around this iteration will be much better than what we saw at manilla

This is highly unlikely to happen, but If there are 2 Open qual slots, I'd like to see Secret move to NA, Beat EG in open quals Semis, then 322 the finals and do it all over again in the next open quals, except they make it to main quals that time.

Then i want to see Secret bomb out of the NA regional quals right after.

I still expect that EG probably gets a direct invite to the Regional Qualifiers. While rest of the Regions seem to have enough Tier 2 teams that stuck together to fill out invites to the Qualifiers, NA really doesn't. Otherwise, we're going to see Perky Pepperonis getting a Regional Qualifier invite.

The other thing that Valve could do, for the American Region, is simply expand the amount of Open Qualifier slots. Make the Ro4 2-loss elimination tournament, rendering 4 Open slots, 2 from each of the qualifiers.

Didn't a big name Chinese or European team have to go through the open? I think maybe VP?

I expect EG to go through the open, they need to get the message across, that their rules will be enforced.

Possibly they expand the open-to-regionals slots. I don't have a problem with Perky Pepperoni getting an invite, maybe international players will come to the US and make the scene better, like w33 and Misery.

It'll be interesting to see how Valve handles this.

I'm pretty sure it's just in the twitch offices, it's not really a house per-se
