Today starts the Lima Major! First big tournament in Peru!

(Wiki)Lima Major/2023

Team to beat is probably Team Liquid!
But maybe the hometurf helps for the SA-teams, like the new EG lineup?
We will see in a few hours, when the first games start!

Ok, I'm hype too.
But have to say, just tuned in, and I don't like the production!
Mainchannel the game is not fullscreen, but like 2/3 (and the very top is cut off) and the "normal desk" is just talking about stuff and not really the game... (they right now talk about Meepo... not in the game...)
Second channel is currently offline. And before it was without any commentary.
Third channel is working, as intended. But... the titel says "Spirit vs. TSM" but it is the Execration-Tundra game. That should be on the ..
Forth channel, that is currently offline. But just a minute ago, showed the same game!

Not impressed for now!

Not sure about the best options, but the Dota2 reddit at least has the game schedule, but for some reason lacks all of the stream links. The liquepdia page has links to all of the current games.

Didn't manage to watch that much...
Any recommendation of games to check out the VODs?

For me: The Talon-GG games were quite entertaining! Quite long, but that is part of the fun there

Nisha on Pango feels odd. He has good impact but misses half his swashbuckles.

Liquids picks in this last series are a bit different. Trying out drafts since they are locked in for first place. Venge + Arc 1+2.

A bit sad over the end of group A. Were like 10 scenarios for tiebreakers and none occurred.

And Liquid still won those matches! Looking very scary! Still the team to beat; and I'm not sure anyone can do it...

I started to write a post about how close group A is/was and that we will get tiebreakers. ... and lucky for me, I didn't finish it; would have looked foolish now

I am sad. Tournament has been running for 7 hours now. We have had 1.5h in-game time, to be nice 2h including drafts.

First it seems the starting time was off 1h in liquipedia. Then it started 1h late for reasons(?) and every single game has been slow to get started and has had technical issues.

If this is another fast 2-0 they might only be 2,5 hours behind schedule. Which isn't the worst I've seen in a dota tournament, though normally it is due to 3 game series so there is a lot of content.

Nice. I went to bed as normal since I kind of gave up on things. Liquid vs Talon on now.

I remember one Stockholm tournament also going after midnight and me missing the last train home. Though not as late as this. :D

EG with the same drafts in games 2,3 is always a bit worrying for the rest of the tournament, hopefully they can pull off a few more lineups

~6h of ingame time in 16h. The 16h time happens very rarely and only then in 4 series of BO3 where all go long. Hopefully they can sort things out.

Liquid played solid. Talon had strong early game but just couldn't keep up in midgame. Feels like they had a hard time doing pickoffs both games.

Classical no tower hitter game. Ursa high ground is risky and Eidelons that explode is only other good tower hitter. So extends until lead is large enough they can kill them in tier 4.

The second game in the series was decent. The first game they could do nothing as soon as BKB hit. Liked the idea and looked good early on, some fine tuning and it would likely work.

Nisha lost mid to Abed in both games. Doesn't mean you win the games though, Liquid getting a win in the second game was surprising after the start they got.

I went to bed after game one and just saw the 2:0 and thought "oh yeah, no problem there". Then watched the VOD! Man, that was a comeback! Incredible teamfighting!
Not sure if GG can stop them ... or any other team!

Back to my predictions:
Finally got a day nearly completely correct (Entitiy should have one a map )
4.5/10

Next games:
Talon 1:2 Spirit
EG 2:1 Aster
GG 1:2 Liquid

// Oh, there is the first Match, where I don't know who it is...
EG 2:1 EG

China performance is so bad, that they got last spot in both group and none of them qualified for best of 6. They should not have so many slots in next Major. Ehome and Knight imported players are actually tie 2 players in their original country, I can't imagine how bad is China dota 2 level now.

SEA remaining team Talon, none of them are Filipino, though they occupied most players from SEA, but exited early too.

I don't think you can take away a slot like this during the middle of the season; if anything I'd actually like to see no regions lose slots and for SA and NA to both get 3 so we have a 4/4/3/3/3/3 split. I think it's pretty clear that SA deserves 3 and NA really should get a 3rd slot for fairness.

Today's predictions:

Talon 2:1 Entity
GG 2:1 Liquid
SR 2:0 Talon

I am not a fan of Nisha Pango. Though he did what was expected from him. Initiated and tanked BKBs. Then poked from the outside of the fight.

Just misses so many swashbuckles in the early-mid game.

Quinn went 5-0 against Nisha mid. Very impressive work, partly due to missing 4 on Liquid but that isn't enough for all games.

At least in the Grand Finals, the matchups were quite bad for Nisha or the heros were just bad (was there a map at the tournament that a Kunkka won? And AA Mid... yeah, sure...)
But Quinn played very well anyway

After the first day and technical problems all over the place, it got to be a nice tournament! The budget cosplay contest was quite fun! Sad that the BKB didn't win that
