Reddit claims you need 7-3 score to maintain your MMR after recalibration. Take from that what you want.

someone i know went 8-2 and +400 tho

if ur talking about original ancient 3 prolly around 4.4-4.6, but it was definitely 4k flat by the end of the season

I was 4.1 at the end of last season and was only ancient 2. I think Ancient 3 didn't start till almost 4.2k

I was definitely ancient 3 at 4050 mmr last season

You're more accomplished than any of us at Dota (except Beesa) so you're already a winner!
All these bots and alt accounts has me wondering why TL doesn't instate having a post minimum to start threads or to join politics threads.

The technology simply isn't there yet.

team is dead now and idk what im doing going forward, probs gonna just pub and win mmr for now since ive been slacking and not playing ranked much
appreciate the kind comments and support, but still majorly let down with the results and myself more than anything.
leading up to the regionals we actually were going even with good teams in scrims but we just dropped the ball and a streak of poor attitudes/toxicity and poor play just killed it
typing that makes me feel like a mega attention whore and i hate it, but theres a short lil blurb on things i suppose
hope youre all having a great day

im actually super super against recalibration in its current implementation
ranked is in place to give more balanced games but randomly assigning or removing several hundred mmr from people who frequently play as is essentially just shakes things up and unbalances matchmaking
every game you play during a season should be effectively viewed as "calibration" games since no one is stuck at any fixed mmr, so if you play enough you'll move to where you should be (not accounting for changing in skill/meta/roles/etc.) so if someone plays several hundred games in one season and maintains a somewhat near 50% winrate but then, by chance, goes 10-0 or 0-10 in calibration gaining/losing 400 mmr or so, theyll just be slightly more detrimental to the actual balance of their pubs until they reach their 50% winrate point mmr again
in my mind, calibration should be mandatory for people who don't play a certain number of games during a season (aka they might not be appropriately placed so having high swings can potentially properly place them) and for people who have above/below certain win % thresholds during a season, because obviously someone winning 60+% or 40-% of their games can probably drop a few hundred more and still only be encroaching their "appropriate" skill based mmr
i feel like calibration as is, is just a gimmick to appease casual players who just want things shaken up and sort of adds an 'event' that gets people back into the game, but for the overall health (balance wise) it really isnt good for the game (in current implementation)
