I'm doing some reporting on this Quadriga CX affair and it's such a deep rabbit hole of a potential faked death, exit scams, crypto movements, and lots of money. The Redditors are going wild and doing some investigations on their own, which reminds me to never piss off a lot of very internet/computer savvy people, because they will track you down eventually.

low mmr players just use Torte's guides or pay for coaching. Good players or people who are good at explaining dota no longer do it for free - they're either hired as analysts (Purge, etc.), or write articles for one of the strategy specific sites (I'm assuming on commission), stream, or coach.
Speaking of, Torte deleted his guides but there are some other people trying to do it so that'll prob be what people use (the in-game guides).
