- blood in stool, particularly if painless - change in bowel habits, whether constipation or diarrhoea, compared to your norm - unintended weight loss - abdominal discomfort Not an exhaustive list but that covers the main ones. | ||

No relation there. I was just at a routine check up and he just brought up that we might as well get it out of the way now. | ||

- difficulty starting your stream aka hesitancy - stop starting, your stream starts, stops, starts again - incomplete micturation - the feeling that there's still stuff in your bladder when you're done - pelvic or back pain However the above symptoms can also be caused by non cancerous enlargement of the prostate so they don't automatically mean cancer. The blood test we do for prostate cancer also are very non specific so they very often create false reassurance or false worry. At the end of the day most prostate cancers are slow and annoying but not overly harmful. Everyone who lives long enough will eventually develop prostate cancer but the vast majority die with prostate cancer rather than die of prostate cancer. That said there are the rare incidents of fast and dangerous prostate cancers, so if you have the above symptoms, see your doctor. | ||
