They factor in to future mod actions but so does stuff like what they are for and how long since you've last been warned. | ||

But more importantly, every time people defend folks that say shit like they, they make the place safer for real racists to join up and feel welcome. They can hide in plain sight, say that are terrible and pass it off as a joke. Until suddenly the community that thought it was against all that garbage is now so filled with it that there is no recovery. People jump ship and leave that hobby/community to the racists and those who are willing to tolerate them. Because that is these people work. They want to make a safe space for them to be racist, sexist or just plain terrible and they will do it with whatever community you are part of. And this is coming form a guy who had to leave more than a few board game stores and table top communities because they got taken over by shitty people that the community refused to expel. Mostly passive aggressive sexist assholes. I never really made the connection until last year when my buddy finally decided to leave the Magic community after 10 + years of judging because he couldn't deal with the culture that never seemed to clean itself up. These people are going to ruin the game and communities you enjoy. | ||

There was a case of a girl telling her boyfriend for months to kill him self and essentially manipulating/persuading him to do it. I think she's culpable. Someone online saying kys and them then doing it doesn't mean they should be blamed at all. What if me getting banned on TL for the umpteenth time pushed me over the edge and I offed myself? Wouldn't you just write that off as "well we feel bad it happened but like, it's a TL ban so it's not like we caused it" Edit: plansix beat me to it - that's what I was referencing | ||
