Anime is also a pretty awful thing to discuss with strangers on the internet though. I bet if I found the anime threads a little hard to get through, the politics thread would be a lot worse though.

Anime porn is widely known for child pornography. So it can be a touchy subject.

I did not use hentai/lolicon/shotacon since that requires more knowledge than most people know.

So I recently saw Evangelion again 1-26 with some buddies, and the set of subs I used this time made 25/26 a lot better. I was able to follow along with Shinji's epiphany and everything, while the first sub I found just said "I belong here" repeatedly.

Which doesn't make any sense.

Shinji doesn't have an epiphany, IMO. He just realizes he is a garbage human, just like everyone else in that series.

Edit: Also, I am deeply conflicted about that new metal gear game. I don't want to like it, but it is so dumb and weird that I'm kinda into it. And it has co-op.

That is a terrible ending. No redemption for any of them. They all get to be part of the garbage pile that is the end of humanity and then everyone dies due to selfish decisions, seeking meaning and never finding it. Then Shinji chokes out Asaka on a beach, next to a sea of blood and a giant, moon sided Rei face dissolving into the sea.

PS: I love the ending of that series.

You're getting it mixed with EoE though, which I didn't see with them, just the Director's Cut of the show with a few extra scenes here, and there.

I really didn't like 25/26 when I first saw them, but it got better when I had another/different/better/more accurate(?) translation for sure.
