I know outside the US/EU and Japan it can be slim pickings. no, electrical power was only when the generator was on rofl. but I left lesotho at 7.
no console living in NA until 12 anyway. My primary exposure to consoles was my roomate in kenya with a gamecube (dam i played a lot of smash).

Plus I think I will make a Phantom Pain thread because there is none and the Ground Zeroes thread no longer is for the purpose. I know there is a decent population of MGS fans on the Liquid pages so I think we can get some discussion working.

i really enjoyed getting caught up with thread. it's nice to see community playing together and having fun in dota!
this actually isn't sarcastic despite my general tendencies.

Like half of his games are on PC as well though, and there are some pretty good ones. Not even mentioning emulators. And Resident Evil is still Resident Evil.

japan has had a PC MMO scene, but it's associated with NEETs and degenerates just like eroge, i think... that's my impression from welcome to the NHK!, at least. they also had a few console MMOs, like phantasy star online and FFXI... console and arcade games are definitely the more socially acceptable ones there.

I looked up the article and the title sucks(and was changed by their head editor), but the content is pretty interesting. Apparently Japan's version of steam is just the US version with a couple tweeks. Japanese characters don't work in the search and only 105 game of 1700 are translated in any way. So unless you read English really well, the system is pretty useless in Japan. Its sort of the reverse of when people used to import crazy Japanese games back in the 90s. The author lives in Japan and uses their version of steam.
But that title is fucking garbage and way to aggressive.

I have a soft spot for MGS because they are so fucking crazy and know it. The new one has a flaming sky whale and I don't know how you beat that with an M-4 Carbine. And I love that they are putting in an upgrade system for the cardboard box. That's the exact type of stupid I want in MGS.

MGS is just kind of an anime take on espionage type gaming. Like if you stand back and look at the plot, it really feels like an anime.
which is fine its super cool.
