I don't like the sites lay out, but I can just find the articles by the people I want to read. Also, tech writers also receive advance products(which are way more than a $60 game). Really every product review site in creation does and always has. It not really a big deal. well i dislike the polygon because it carries over much of the culture that theverge champions and i find their method championing of internet rights and other inane topics infuriatingly disingenuous. something about the way their articles are written, along with the responses they get from the community frustrate me beyond belief. I feel like it's as if I'm reading reddit but I haven't browsed enough of the latter to actually know, so it's what I'd imagine it would be like. that also makes no sense but whatever i enjoy anandtech a lot tho, their reviews on tech are very balanced and technical.

Its the reddit success story in a nutshell. i dunno man, most of the reddit frontpage and default subs are more circlejerks and anti-circlejerks + bite-sized amusement than argument breeding grounds. news/politics subs are probably the main exception. in fact, reddit is more about regulars who understand the site format than temporary audiences, so i don't get your reddit comment at all. oh i guess you mean reddit is the conduit by which people get to such temporary controversies

not as cool as [H] but quite a bit more mainstream. hardware review sites generally don't feel the need to bring politics and womens rights into their reviews -_-

I was just pointing out that if you want reddit Karma, you find the thing that gets people riled up the most and make that your topic. See SC2 or Dota reddit and the conduct of some salty players we all love.

This is exactly why people get insta upvoted every time the servers go to shit and they make a thread like "omg are servers shit for everyone?". Then they are suddenly on the FP with 1k upvotes.

Its like when people use negative reviews on meta-critic everyone hates a specific game. Proof through self selecting audiences.

There isn't a 1-1 relationship between upvote and number of people that actually clicked upvote
