Most of the Chinese teams had less practice, and new a huge reshuffle was coming so were less inclined to perform. | ||

Well they had VG and newbee before DAC .. the rest was uhhhhhh now they have 3 super teams + newbee(idk but they should be good IF THEY STOP PLAYING WC3 RPG) it's like TI4 again with IG,DK,NB | ||

Fair enough - but they did bootcamp pretty hard and knew their rosters would be stable (EG less so I suppose). Chinese teams pre CNY are not even worth talking about. TI5 should be another year of Chinese dominance imo. Secret probalby has the best shot, EG a lesser one IMO (unless ppd massively outdrafts chinese teams still - who knows china has been dumb before) | ||

LGD should be able to perform now with xiao8 addition, IG now has a real carry lol and VG look like they finally have a carry that probably will carry them not the other way around. | ||

Remember before TI3, when people were convinced China was going to just destroy everything? Even after the embarrassment of G-1? It's not some mystical land of perfect doto. It's just another region, and the West happens to have some very strong teams right now. I also think you're massively overrating Secret. They stand a solid chance of just getting fucked by their one-dimensional drafting. Puppey might get his act together, but if he doesn't, they're going to sweep groups and get broken in bracket. The region does suffer from the "its far away and I can't follow the scene closely because its in a different language, CLEARLY THEY ARE ALL MAGIC AT DOTO!" syndrome. I think they have maybe a couple more really good teams than NA, just like EU. But we do have Fire and TT, so it balances out. | ||

The West is extremely weak overall, with only EG and Secret really having a shot (C9 is useless as long as bone7 is on that team). I could see one of those teams making a run, but I'll be moderately surprised if 3 of the chinese teams aren't on a similar level as them or if not better. I trust Puppey in big LANs, and there is a lot of talent on that roster, so simply they could make a solid run. EG could make a run too, but I think there is some exploitabillity to PPD's drafts that teams haven't exploited yet. We'll see if they catch up to him. | ||

VG crushed every western team outside EG(but they still beat them first before getting beaten) at DAC. And that's a team with a carry that the team doesn't believe in which should be disastrous. And that's with china that has 1 good team cause fucking newbee played too much rpg. Anyways IG had some kind of washed up lineup that time and LGD had Yao mid which wasn't exactly performing stellar. And lets never mention newbee fuck that team. The shuffle made 3 superteams that are stacked as fuck and should have fixed the weak links the teams had(IG that needed a real carry, VG that also needed a carry that can carry them and LGD being weird). It's gonna be TI4 all over again guys. | ||

Rabbit for Hao is obviously a step down, but with June on the offlane they will be much improved, and the still have one of the scariest support duos in dota (and mu is amazing). If this team gets motivated and starts practicing, watch out for them. TBH I don't really care I just hope the patch is better this time. Should be a monster patch coming out in probalby a month or so knowing how these things go. | ||

Like LGD is absurd - Sylar is one of the two best carries in the world, MMY is IMO either the best or second best support in the world, Maybe is really good, Xiao8 is one of the best captains, and a return of Yao to the offlane perhaps [Magnus :O]?
