I might be around, but I am not sure if we will be doing ranked. if so, you'd be #4 so if we had a 5th that would be neat.
we're normally able to roll face while leveling our ranked unless one of my friends randoms in which case we are likely fucked :D

i don't follow CS:GO but i tune in randomly on random tournaments .. but 280k viewers holy crap .. Is this their own version of The International ? (and since i don't follow sc2 anymore is it also their own version of DAC? or just a normal tournament)

TI5 should be another year of Chinese dominance imo. Remember before TI3, when people were convinced China was going to just destroy everything? Even after the embarrassment of G-1? It's not some mystical land of perfect doto. It's just another region, and the West happens to have some very strong teams right now. I also think you're massively overrating Secret. They stand a solid chance of just getting fucked by their one-dimensional drafting. Puppey might get his act together, but if he doesn't, they're going to sweep groups and get broken in bracket. EG is far more stable in comparison.
Fucking hated the articles that were written after iG won TI2. It was almost racist how they were praised as some mystical/genius/perfect team simply because they were chinese. Then they played one match and lost and kept on losing. Rofl, so mystical.

the huge amount of small/medium tournaments held after the big boom (TI2) set up a great environment for western teams to practice and become better, while in china the scene is basically more or less the same since 2012, comp scene wise eastern scene is overall moderately developed since dota1 but western comp scene enjoys alot more of steady and stable development since TI(2).
The funniest thing of the whole 'west vs east' happened in TI1, who the fuck would bet navi won it back then rofl.

The trend towards exoticism is just as deep as the trend towards tribalism. Fact of the matter is, both regions have potentially strong teams right now, and based on player synergy, metagame developments, the probable final patch before TI5, and who's feeling especially on their game on any given day, the results could be all fucking over the place.
I mean, hell, I think Team Tinker might even finish in the money.

Fucking Liquid made it into the money last year, and they had absolutely no right doing that.

They even placed in the money in TI3. Liquid got cash in each International. Not a ton, but they got it.
