Let's not get crazy.

The players in TT are extremely scrappy and unreliable, barring the universally solid Black^. They're one of the best-situated teams to take games off of far superior players.

Fucking Liquid made it into the money last year, and they had absolutely no right doing that.

Only Arrow and Narvi didn't make money, so you had to be really bad.

So guys i have this feeling that TI5 will be TI4 all over again.. All western teams gonna get rekt by China.

Did you watched DAC? Because thats not what happened in any way. China has just as many terrible teams as NA. NA just has a few less tier 1 teams.

Most of the Chinese teams had less practice, and new a huge reshuffle was coming so were less inclined to perform.

Secret was brand new, and EG with Sumail was very new.

Fair enough - but they did bootcamp pretty hard and new their rosters would be stable (EG less so I suppose). Chinese teams pre CNY are not even worth talking about. TI5 should be another year of Chinese dominance imo. Secret probalby has the best shot, EG a lesser one IMO (unless ppd massively outdrafts chinese teams still - who knows china has been dumb before)

People always overrate China. Remember before TI3, when people were convinced China was going to just destroy everything? Even after the embarrassment of G-1?

It's not some mystical land of perfect doto. It's just another region, and the West happens to have some very strong teams right now.

I also think you're massively overrating Secret. They stand a solid chance of just getting fucked by their one-dimensional drafting. Puppey might get his act together, but if he doesn't, they're going to sweep groups and get broken in bracket. EG is far more stable in comparison.

Fucking hated the articles that were written after iG won TI2. It was almost racist how they were praised as some mystical/genius/perfect team simply because they were chinese. Then they played one match and lost and kept on losing. Rofl, so mystical.

The trend towards exoticism is just as deep as the trend towards tribalism. Fact of the matter is, both regions have potentially strong teams right now, and based on player synergy, metagame developments, the probable final patch before TI5, and who's feeling especially on their game on any given day, the results could be all fucking over the place.

I mean, hell, I think Team Tinker might even finish in the money.

eg recently regularly draws against t4 teams, whatever that says about the team atm

This reasoning would have made 2013 PR into a low T1 team, given how many games they managed to take off of legit T1 teams.

Well outside that TI didn't have much problems.

Even before DAC began things like BTS casting but not onsite was somewhat a hypekiller. Also the content in between games was a lackluster. Idk it was not TI level

If there's nothing that can be said about it then it barely even exists as a statistical point. Let's wait a few months and see if they take a cheap victory in one of these random leagues.

they arent practicing
dac was a fluke and the new team actually sucks dick but i doubt it

If there's nothing that can be said about it then it barely even exists as a statistical point. Let's wait a few months and see if they take a cheap victory in one of these random leagues.

Fact of the matter is, both regions have potentially strong teams right now, and based on player synergy, metagame developments, the probable final patch before TI5,

none of these exist as a 'statistical point' either im just spouting as much random shit as you are
speculative unsubstantiated opinions

i don't follow CS:GO but i tune in randomly on random tournaments .. but 280k viewers holy crap .. Is this their own version of The International ? (and since i don't follow sc2 anymore is it also their own version of DAC? or just a normal tournament)

CSGO doesnt have an International, moreso several Majors throughout the year

no liquid??
s a d

TL has a csgo team iirc

partnered with Curse or smthing

yeah but we didn't qualify for this event, lost in the qualifiers etc QQ

now i'm starting to wonder how do you hypecast CSGO or how do you discuss CSGO ? i feel like if bw/sc2 are easier to cast than dota then dota is easier than CSGO
