The first route has already been adapted into an anime quite a few years ago (and it's the worst adaptation ever, it actually brings shame to the amazing Visual Novel). The other two routes have short movies out, but now UBW is currently airing as an anime from Ufotable (Ufotable is amazing) which has had really high praise so far. You can start with the current UBW adaptation if you want since you can watch it without knowledge of the first route (although it makes it better if you do). As always I'd recommend reading all 3 routes in the VN, but obviously that's extremely time consuming and not everyone is into VN's. Since you seem confused about the naming, there is also Fate Zero. This is a Light Novel that was written after the Fate Stay/Night Visual Novel, and it is set slightly before the time/events in Fate Stay/Night. It has also been adapted into an amazing anime from Ufotable. Do not start with Fate Zero though, despite the events being set prior to the FSN events, it is meant to be read or watched afterwards for the highest enjoyment  There's more stuff to say but this is the utmost basics. Also Saber #1 and Rin #2 fuck the haters. Of course Saber is #1, she is great. Although I don't find the mages and their back stabbing to be that interesting, I like the Heroes in the show and Saber is the best. I like any ass kicking lady that who main relationship with male characters is not romantic. Its a refreshing change of pace. | ||

Just watch fucking Madoka already P6, and upgrade past boring characters like Saber Sure she's all "I'm a strong independent woman" on the surface but she's got kiddie pool level depth of character and significantly exists just as a love interest for Dumb As A Brick-kun DRRR and Baccano were also pretty damn good for independent female characters, though given their style they also have some hilariously fucked-up ones (the ratio of fucked-up male to female characters remains about 1:1 tho) | ||

Keep high expectations no matter the genre DRRR is weird but fun; Baccano is probably better but I really love Japanese city settings so I prefer DRRR Tho I admit it's a little hypocritical to trash one-dimensional characters and then recommend DRRR, there are maybe one or two complex characters in it, the author just switches characters when (he? she?) wants to bring up another viewpoint Also, if you want something legit amazing, read Vinland Saga, about halfway through it becomes the best manga in existence | ||
