But then again, so much about the LoL client is absolutelly atrocious.
From what I have heard, their code is a disaster and nightmare rolled into a terrible storm of poor decisions. They started out as a super small company and their code was not the most forward thinking. Look how long it took them just to get a spectator client in there. It wouldn't shock me at all that blue always had first pick and everything would implode if they switched it.

Riot actually have so many employees that it's unbelievable that they haven't just rewritten their game from scratch in some semi-useable format rofl.

I am sure its been talked about, but likely its would be an unbelievable task with so many legacy issues, skins and their whole market place.

IDK Riot's always been really stupid when it comes to balancing the draft process. It feels like on the one hand they don't want to actually acknowledge it as a part of the real game (rather than just being the extra stuff you do before the game where you pick champions), but are forced to because of how crucial it is.
This post still remains my number one "makes me want to tear my hair out" Riot post about how they design their game (particularly the part where he tries to theorycraft why 2nd ban/pick phase is bad for the game). Most of it probably doesn't represent their design philosophy anymore, given how much of the relevant staff has changed, though.

I can't honestly believe that Riot will ever do an engine update which is probably the best investment they could actually make into their game. Then again from their advertisements and everything else they seem to only go after the cheapest/'most passionate' workers they can find.

I mean realistically the full rewrite will be "LoL 2" when they finally finish milking the playerbase for as much money as they'll spend and can get everyone to re-buy all the skins and champions they already own in LoL getting everyone to switch to the new game.

I think that would end the company. If anything, the release LoL 2 and give people all the champions they previously had with new skins(maybe a special one for being a legacy holder) and start from scratch. But even then.
They clearly need to do something about their draft(which sucks). Even dota switched it up and likely will again at some point. I could see an era where there are more bans or the format changes again.

tbh valve isn't fixing a lot of our issues too since they are working on HL3 and whatnot.
