I had the opportunity to have a loft but I sleepwalk all the time so no way

martingale system says "bet 1000 meat, if u lose bet 2000 meat, if u lose bet 4000, etc"
idea being eventually you'll win and win back all your money + 1000 meat.
The hilarious part is that people justify it by saying that it's guaranteed to work if you have infinite meat. It's like, if you have infinite meat why are you trying to make more lmao
|
One of the first online purchases I remember asking for was for a KoL monthly thing which gave you a familiar and something unique I think. Damn I miss all the inside jokes and the sense of achievement from collecting stuff in that game.

ya you could buy a Mr. Accessory for $10 and trade it in for various items and familiars that were rotated each month. I think items were 1 Mr. A and familiars were 2 but I can't remember for sure.
I spent like 30 bucks I think to get the cymbal playing monkey (blood faced volleyball + whichever familiar gives you meat) and to sell one in order to get a snowcone tome when it was still cheap.
fucking snowcone tome never again
and yeah KoL had some of the consistently funniest writing of any game I've played. One of the multiplayer games where I spent a while exploring and reading everything and not being a competitive dick.

it's the unit design/balance. I actually agree with this part in avilo's post (thought he economy too) the rest of his post is retarded tho
But whatever sc2 is a shell of a game and a faction of what bw was so whatever + Show Spoiler +

it wasn't remotely bad for an avilo post tbh

its fine LotV is reworking everything to be even worse
At least blizzard realized that literally everything in the game sucked, its a good first step right. Too bad they needed to realize that in WoL, "fix" it in HotS, then actually figure it out now and properly fix it in LotV for the game to be a good game.
Also too bad that that whole process needed to be complete 4 years ago for the game to not suck. Its essentially too late now imo.
The hilarious part is that SC2 would still have been a truly successful game even with all the shitty design decisions if they just kept bnet 1.0. WC3 customs are literally more alive than sc2 customs atm.
|
yeah the fact that they've waited this long to make massive changes is both absurd and frustrating
like HotS was already almost too late, most people I know myself included basically quit after that godawful ZvZ finals with BL just shooting broodlings at each other for like 10 minutes. idk I get that expecting a game as good as BW was kinda unreasonable but I'm still sad about SC2 D:
and yeah it's actually hard to believe how badly blizz bungled customs. like wtf.
|
blizzard sucks at balance, the truth is sc:bw comes off as kinda a fluke
|
thats fine the community makes the maps that actually balance its the design that matters. The core mechanics like macro mechanics, income, unit interaction, etc. this from the pro-games perspective.
what really matters though is the playerbase which simply requires bnet 1.0 to sustain itself and grow, unfortunately that's missing too.
|
guys u all play dota u shouldve realized by now that balance doesnt matter shit
|
I really think no one can recreate the BW balance because its just requires you to ignore your game and let the community balance it through maps and other stuff. In this modern era of the internet, that's just not going to happen.
|
holy shit bw was an unbalanced peice o shit
|
BW was balanced heavily around maps if I remember, Blizzard basically stopped balance two years after release and took a hands-off approach in comparison to the Blizzard of today who nerf any strat which shows some promise in the right hands.

Yeah Browder and David Kim and whoever else is in the background weren't part of the original team, who were either moved to other games and departments or quit Blizzard.
