I don't have any particular association with prophet. It's been a while since TI3.

Also it's amazing how much effect people's hero portraits have on how I read their posts. Ahswtini was a cool guy when he was morphling, but now there's a riki I immediately think that poster is a dick. Same for meepo, but that's sometimes accurate. If there was a pony related hero I'd have it as my portrait. As funny as having KOTL would be, it's not quite obvious enough for me
Surely enchantress....?

Those reddit threads are hilarious. The players there have the funniest things to say.
"A champions strength shouldn't be dictated based on if you buy a QSS or not.
Veigar as you mentioned, gets completely shafted by the appropriate itemization, and completely dominates when people fail to itemize against him. He was also seeing quite a few picks in high elo as both a mid and a support because you can't really outplay him. All his kit was unable to be dodged, meaning he either stunned you and killed you in that timeframe or got off his instant damage before you killed him, or he just blows his combo then dies.
Zed, for example, has multiple ways to approach the game, and even when a champion gets QSS, he is still very bursty, has a lot of sustained damage and good outplay potential and is also a good split pusher. Zed can also be outplayed pretty hard since all his abilities can be dodged or negated
While the Veigar changes were god awful, his kit was just completely unhealthy in multiple ways."
This was particularly funny to me as pretty much every hero in Dota has to be balanced around BKB and how strong it is. Ah well, different games I guess.

I could play further and claim I meant dota version 5.4 but I have no idea what version 5.4 was like.
Sidenote - i've had my monitor like 4-5 feet away from my face for the past month. I didn't realize it was that far until I moved it closer and could read text far better

I have been summoned, where is the stream of our king? The Mozart of our time

In fairness to lol, DAC was one of the most diverse tournaments I have seen in quite awhile in terms of hero picks.

DotA 5.4 was actually really fun That era was the beginning of "serious DotA"

that was probably due to the sheer volume of games played at DAC

most of them weren't LANs and none of them really got close to the number of games played at DAC... there were 200+ games from the group stages of DAC alone

He also added the bracer, there's both an AMA on reddit with him and a thread somewhere back in the TL era of LD where he was talking about his accomplishments, he didn't seem to think he added much. It does seem like Icefrog has somewhat made up with Neichus since the PL remake is very close to Neichus' vision for the hero).
Neichus admits it was pretty much entirely his own fault and he doesn't blame icefrog if icefrog has hard feelings at all, rare to see that sort of honesty but Neichus isn't in a position where that kind of statement costs him anything (high school biology teacher now, iirc). It is interesting to read Neichus' position on the whole scaling of things, he wanted to remove old aura abilities that were boring (ie SF -armor) and add some way for int heroes to scale to the lategame, he felt like the scaling of spell based heroes was a design flaw that's been covered over with the level cap and other strategies very well. Which is somewhat of a middleground between LoL and Dota philosophies.
Was 5.4 the blink dagger Vigoss era?
I dunno why I'm talking about neichus right now.

There were a lot of games, but it was almost half that number. It was like 100-120.
