I thought he moved to NA after getting picked up by EG. Also, the employment contract for him is a mystery to me, because he is under age and still in school. But I am sure Twitch and EG are following the rules on him "working". Or maybe they just are not worried about it if he keeps up with school.

thats a good point but i know far less than u about employment laws. If nothing else, I'd assume EG know what they are doing since they seem like that kind of organization.

I mean, the Harry Potter movies and family sitcoms exist, so it is possible to employee kids, but there are a fuck ton of rules about it, including the number of hours they are allowed to "work". But they likely went through it with Xenocider when they hired him, so they must know what they are doing.
Still, I give EG a lot of points of going through the effort to pick him up. An under age, non America citizen must have some legal costs to deal with if you want to do it correctly. And I assume Twitch and EG do.

The US has the weird system with young athletes playing for schools instead of clubs, so it's probally not as obvious as in the rest of the world, but maybe for more obscure sports it also happens. In any case practice isn't really working hours.

Western dota had a decent christmas-new years break too. The only tournaments that kept going on were super low tier, which are probably still going on in china too dunno.
