I wouldn't mind playing more RMM if the damned language option actually mattered. It's kinda hard playing a team game that requires communication when 80% of the team speaks Spanish/Portuguese while I'm using English when I clearly ticked only English as the option. Would be really nice if you use Steam in Spanish/Portuguese the Dota 2 client would default to Spanish/Portuguese and actually matched you with Spanish/Portuguese speakers only.

(your default language preference is whatever your steam client language is set to)

i communicate ~~95% chatwheel and pings, the 5% is begging to group or begging to farm instead of push~~ EDIT: actually on second thought that's a lie i'm a dirty mic user when there's other english speakers who aren't intolerable and i use it for tactics n stuff

i generally don't have issues with non english speakers

except the occasional ones who are clearly on the wrong server for their ping and then COMPLAIN ABOUT LAG LIKE YOU DIDNT EEXPECT THIS TO HAPPEN QUEUEING HAFL THE WORLD AWAY "wew"

also the strange creatures who pick carry after carry is picked, get accomodated for somehow, and then only type "noob" when the team inevitably loses. but i don't chalk that up as a communication issue, more of a questionablehumanbeing issue

Btw I'm not saying just because you speak English you are automatically going to be a good player or good mannered or communicate a whole lot but it is nice to understand what my team is saying in a team game. On the plus side I can insult people who don't use English with the worst ones I know and get away with it.

Only time I get bothered by non-English speakers is when they are a duo/trio and they heavily use the mic. It's not that I have anything against other languages I just find a bunch of people speaking Chinese/Spanish/whatever on mic to be distracting. If they refuse to use English I just mute and use chatwheel/pings, no hard feelings.

I get the odd Chinese 4-stack that I'm with, which is annoying because SOME of the guys type, and SOME of the guys speak. So I can communicate with a couple dudes, but not all of them. This isn't a big deal, but the guys who type don't listen, and the guys who listen don't read. =/

i appreciate it when they're actually talking about the game, but instamute if they're primarily talking about personal shit. i also tend to mute mic bloggers who talk too much about distracting shit or their own lane and mic theorycrafters who try to micromanage the whole team

even when i stack with skype/ts i try to remember to ingame mic stuff that could be relevant to people out of the stack; i hate it when people are less communicative with non-stack teammates than they would be otherwise just because they're in a stack

I have fixed my dota telling me I'm getting 700+ to all servers, for some reason my nodes were wrong or something.

Also, Cap is a flamer, but then again, he's vs a WD that had aghs at 17 minutes, lol.
