I think the last 'major' incident was Tephus freaking out on everyone after I told him nobody cares about some random Russian team, who are still as irrelevant today as they were during that argument a year ago or more. I think as a result of that argument, myself, comeh, andre(?) and one other was banned/kicked for a few hours and the core group of active irc users left and never came back which is why tl.dota2's activity flatlined. The vast majority of the active users decided there was no point in being moderated by people who barely contributed to the channels activity so we made our own. That is the whole story dude, it's not anything more than that. The mods and users from the other channel weren't even banned or not allowed in the new channel, we have 0 kicks or bans in that channel, we simply didn't want to put up with the tl.dota2 mods because there was no reason to do so. I wish there was more juicy drama or some epic story but it's all really that simple. Ha. I only ever kicked for racial or homophobic slurs, and only banned if it was repetitive (or you were doing it just to martyr). Also, that Russian team was Kompas, after they beat tinker. They then went on to become Hellraisers.. and qualify for DAC and all that other stuff. | ||

I think you and I talked about it but only briefly/casually I could be wrong though. I think in the end we decided to make our own channel because it wasn't worth trying to 'fix' anything. As 95% of the active people in the channel there just wasn't any reason to be moderated by mostly idlers. There wasn't any real animosity or drama at the end of the day as we even had some of the active mods from tl.dota2 in our channel everyday or others that would stop in from time to time to chat. | ||

Yeah, they're still pretty irrelevant (and dead) just check liquipedia :D~ Also, you're not wrong to kick/ban for racist/homophobic slurs, especially if it's the 'team liquid' channel but most of us didn't care about that stuff so we just went on our own way. :D | ||
