during laning phase I have a command in my autoexec that switches it on and off. while laning I leave it on and after like 10 min I switch it off. I need to get my axe binds back up and running because I haven't had a 10key keyboard for a while and that was bound to the keypad.
ill have to try auto attacking the ground in the future because I've definitely missed last hits for that

Autoing the ground will target the range creep instead of the nearest creep from time to time if the nearest creep isn't attacking at that very instant, its an easy way to miss cs for no reason

It only attacks the ranged creep if the ranged creep is attacking you. It prioritizes creeps first by whether or not it's attacking you and then by distance. If no creeps are attacking you, it always targets nearest.
It's also really weird to be lasthitting from a spot where the enemy ranged creep is actually in your automatic target acquisition range while an enemy is still actually there to mess up creep aggro.

It's more common to miss CS because you misjudged your positioning/creeps moved and you target the wrong melee creep than running at the ranged creep, unless you are in the middle of the creepwave.

I click A to last hit or attack a specific target/hero, only auto attack on ground when I use PL

I don't know where the discussion moved to the topic of intentionally A-clicking the ground as a mode of lasthitting, because that's not what I was referring to.

The only time I use the "a-click behind creep wave/camp" is when I am microing two control groups like visage birds. The rest of the time I just click creeps directly.

i a click the ground with pretty much any farmed hero like luna cause i'm lazy sometimes
i usually get all the last hits anyways even if you leave the hero as long as the hero has enough attack speed and damage .. of course sometimes you miss last hits but i'm lazy

i do this shit all the time it's infuriating
i dont think ive done the stop cancelling autoattack animation for ages, simply a-clicking/rightclicking for the last hit is much more efficient if you know the timing for the autoattack on the hero.
the only time i stop cancel is if I mistime the click and attack too early.
I think all of this makes that league reddit poster's gripes even funnier because there's absolutely no reason to stop constantly stop cancel to last hit

stop cancelling gets you some last hits you couldnt otherwise get against a missed deny (such that it has pretty much 1 or 2 creep autos left after your opponent hits it so you'd have to be launching your auto right then to get it before the creep)
like you're spamming stop cancel -> you see your opponent go for the deny early -> you let your attack go through
there's some instances where if you wait to start the attack until you see them start the deny it's already too late. it's mainly relevant on long frontswing heroes like drow and lina

nothing better than juking your opponent into attempting a deny, cancelling your attack, then scoring the CS.
