I get the 60 FPS for gaming, but I am not sure its going to be worth it for pulling down on streams. Even with fios, 1080p 60FPS can be a struggle for my ISP. Not sure that Valve or Riot would be willing to move exclusively to either platform though. Its how most sports make their money, though contracts and TV deals with cable networks. i doubt this is going to work unless they pay out a significantly higher amount than twitch, assuming that both platforms are equally reliable what twitch thrives on is a self-sustaining culture and the interaction between the broadcaster and his audience. to pull that away from twitch you'd have to pull the streamers away and without significant incentive i doubt anyone is going to voluntarily switch | ||

I'm suggesting that there are nonfiscal benefits to streaming on twitch that indirectly translate to tangible benefits (building community on your channel -> donations/subs) there have been a bunch of other platforms that performed as well as twitch on the technical side, but never really took off even if they had better contracts (own3d, ustream, current youtube, mlg.tv, AZUBUUUU etcetc) at least this is my observation from a complete outsider's pov | ||
