dunno road trip to the moon is pretty amusing and is honest about how much he's making in donations sellout-y shit is stuff like cosplay donation goals.
But its unsurprising that he's using tried and true tactics to make more money off of his stream, its not like he's trying to paint the stream in some sort of ultra-professional serious dota light or anything.
|
Doesnt matter if he was that good or not. He didnt even play ads and was really entertaining. Now all I see is the G2A stuffz, donation bar and the stupid dog with the stupid sound when he gets donations.
|
Its about the same as taking donations to play specific heroes. People are donating because they like what they are watching. The reasons may be beyond us, but the world is full of mystery.

most streamers didnt play ads anymore ever since donations+subscribers
kripp only non sellout left a true hero cringefist

oh nice artour stream
and yeah MOST streamers have realized that ads are more annoying and less profitable than donations/subs due to adblock rates etc although some still do run ads cuz that does make some amount of money

ads on twitch are just bad. It works if you have a show or something with scheduled breaks, but for a guy streaming it's just way too annoying with the variable delay and missed content.

and you can't even blame them after the Nth time someone cuts off the end of a game with ads, not to mention volume issues or regions where they had exactly 1 ad being shown over and over again.

It works for hearthstone streamers because you can run ads during the queue times so you average about 1 or 2 ads per 15 minutes
Doesn't really work for Dota since the queue time to match length ratio is off

reason i got adblock for twitch were the ads when u opened a stream literally the worst thing it used to give u an ad everytime u opened a new stream (i think now they only give u a new ad for opening a stream every 10 minutes or something)

I came into work at 8:30 (software dev) granted most of my friends either work from home or go in whenever they wake up so its mostly true of our profession but I actually care about my sleep cycle/am married so there is that
