e.g. I really don't think Sumail is on the same level as RTZ or Cty at all and his composure/player intelligence is getting in the way of himself and his team. I'm actually a tiny bit insulted that people think he's super hot shit compared to those 2 young players and other top team mids. Overrated, typical EG hype and not going to fill promises, IMO.

I argue Sumail was pushed into tier 1/2 competitive outside of NEL because of the hype of producing another success story similar to Arteezy. In progames I'm not impressed with him outside of laning phase especially after all the issues of 6.83 sorta ruining their past DAC victory and now he's actually put into hard situations he can't handle. I think he's obviously going to learn things and get better at the game but I just think he's currently trying to fill in boots he's too small for.

Excalibur same shoes as EE and Sumail? But concerning Sumail, I think PPD said himself in some interview or vlog that they opted to take in Sumail because they want to win TI, and taking in a young player who may have the potential to become really great was their best way to go about it. I'm sure they would have considered an established player as a replacement for Arteezy if there was someone who was good enough available. But it seemed to me that their alternatives were taking in some NA player who has been around the pro scene for a while but never accomplished much, or take in Sumail and hope he can learn what he needs to learn in time for TI. They knew he was good from NEL, but obviously there aren't many guarantees of how he will fit in the team or how will he develop slightly longer term when he plays professionally.

I'm a bit confused by your sentence. Excalibur same shoes as EE and Sumail? It was nothing about their quality/skill. It was that they're pubstar individuals brought into the scene with existing good players rather than building their reputation through a team/tournament into the scene.

Even then, EE was older than Xcalibur and Sumail when coming into the scene and he somewhat captained his teams himself. Of course his first big LAN result was with Loda&Akke but nth was around before they joined and even won an ESWC qualifier. Sumail and Xcalibur are both still very young and were brought into very experienced teams as a +1.
