Dota and other Esports could stand to grow more and become more "stable". And by stable, I mean the players and team owners could feel comfortable assuming that their job will be around in 5 years. As someone with a lot of responsibilities, even if I was offered a dream "esports" job tomorrow, I wouldn't take it.

Because modding is that indie type deal where it's supposed to be free and a passion project. Skyrim's mod scene was free for years but Valve suddenly adding a price tag on mods which were free before is a pretty apparent cash grab. Twenty four hours is not enough time to determine if the mod is a broken mess or actually worth paying for. It's funny though because Valve's most popular games are all mods or updates & sequels - Dota 2, CS:GO, Team Fortress 2 - so it's no shock Valve would sell mods.
