Last few years have been extremely tough for me. I'm with you m8. Was just messing with Bluemoon. I don't have any plans on grad school because experience/learning in industry seems to outweigh a masters imo (unless you're trying to get into research in industry).

I see. I'm a mathematician. No real reason to go beyond bachelors in this field unless you go all the way to a phd: industry just looks too tempting. On the other hand, my beautiful (useless) abstract structures are just asking to be studied... Premature congratulations by the way, I'm still some distance away.

Urban planning isn't a hard science, but you can bet you can find a job if you had a PhD in it. A PhD in industrial design also could score you a job at Apple.

You need to be really, really sure about what you're getting into with a PhD, I've found. Its nice to have but its so tough to do.

I'd very much advise AGAINST that but my back was against the wall with the deadline. It wasn't great but it passed with a lot of corrections requested. The hard part was the previously four years of lab work.

I'm fairly close to submitting in biophysics, and I enjoy the work so it's fine, but in terms of financial reward and job security and whatever else I would have done far better as an engineer on 4 years of study than a PhD on 8.
