That was kind of interesting I only consume reddit content posted here so his experiment have completly passed me by. The question shouldnt ever have been if he could reach 6k + Show Spoiler +. The question should have been can you learn more from playing in 5k mmr games then you can in 2k mmr games.
On the other hand its pretty hard to morally argue for the possible gains in learning for one person at the cost of your four teammates. When we have a perfectly viable learning method in gaining mmr instead of learning by losing.
If anyone wanna do a similar experiment I have a smurf with +5k for it. My condition would be a weekly report here where u would tell stories about your horrible losses but also hopefully insight in how you can improve. As well as you would need to keep playing 50% on your original account so that we might see some trend shifting magic.
