Have you been watching season 2 of the Wheel of Time show? It's definitely a fairly significant upgrade over season 1 so far, especially with regards to the writing/direction. It's 100% still a much different turning of the wheel, but I no longer hate it lol. Also the new Mat is better than the old one.
edit: Well I didn't hate season 1, I was just severely disappointed.
I haven't watched it yet and was kinda putting it off because I was pretty disappointed by season 1 so this is really good to know! Maybe I'll watch it on my korea flight :o
I watched WoT Season 1. The magic in it was soooo freaking pretty but man it was boring, like the Amazon LOTR show.
I read the first book because I know its apparently a top tier fantasy novel but god bless it was soooo boring. I don't think either one is going to be for me.

WoT doesn't hit its stride until after the first book unfortunately, so a lot of people tend to drop it early. The issue is that fantasy authors during that time really needed to follow the Tolkien formula to have any chance of getting published. And by the "Tolkien formula" I am referring to how Moraine going to the Two Rivers to bring the main characters on an adventure is basically the same as Gandalf going to the Shire and bringing the Hobbits on an adventure. The first book is a fairly strong homage to Fellowship of the Ring, as were most fantasy novels.
Robert Jordan completely pivoted after the first book and basically helped revolutionize fantasy as a genre though. Personally I haven't read anything stronger than books 4-6. With that being said, if you didn't like book one at all I wouldn't bother trying again. But I've also seen quite a few people say "meh" after the first book then end up loving the series

I think book readers are the most likely to enjoy S2. If you haven't read the books and didn't enjoy S1 as a show, I can 100% see why you still wouldn't be able to get into it. Regardless though I still think S2 is a very massive step up, especially with the last couple of episodes.

I have not the slightes idea what I "played" there :D
but:
google sheets best game engine.
now with the Unity-death coming up, it could be an alternative!
Maybe I'll try to get back into it with Book 2. I'll probably need to take blood pressure medicine if i hear a character go on and on about "the stories".
Wheel of Time discussions both book and show is not what I expected when I checked this thread again.
Agree with the others if the first book doesn't work for you then it probably wont in most cases (some cases other books changes pace and other stuff after the first one or it starts to get good on the later books). Same with the show.
I've both read the books and watching the show.
The heavily deviates from the book. It did keep some core concepts but yeah alot of changes. I would just treat it as a fanfic tbh which turnoff alot of hardcore WoT fans which I understand. They want book accurate but honestly few shows who adapt books do book-accurate adaptation
I still find it a fun show I just dont expect it to be book accurate at all(given i read the books)

Also smurfs are still a thing in dota if any of you still play that game. Dont get fooled by reddit talking about all of them being gone.
Death Grips was a blast; a nonstop barrage of noise. Really enjoyed the changes to songs their guitarist friend is bringing to the tour. Only complaint is I wish they changed up the background more instead of just the silhouette effect.

I'm pretty much done for now, but it went pretty well. I finally killed the Maven and the Uber Elder, I made some nice currency and a couple of stacked characters. Arguably my most successful league yet. I saw you log in a bunch too.
I was on 99 div this league, so almost three digits, wouldve been the first time, but spent like 70 putting together the poison lightning strike guardian. elevating negative chaos res in like 8 tries only to fill suffix when woke orbing the helmets together and anulling elevated chaos res with then trying to re-harvest-craft it with like 15k juice only to find out the helmet was the wrong ilvl.
almost quit right there but found a double elevated helmet for less than my investment in orbs of dominance...

to me it seems the same as every other year, but i also dont care about cosmetics at all. i guess the art is prettier and theres that new "decorate your profile" thing, but thats just gonna wind up being mostly crude (porn/racism) memes i imagine
