Well.... here we are lol. Just got cancelled for something else instead ![]() I think this is a pretty bad assessment to make, not gonna lie We likely have very wildly different, and nuanced views on morality on cases/situations like this - where mine is far more intent, and outcome based and viewed far more closely through a lens of morality versus one of lawful judgment. I don't care that he once upon a time wrote the N word in a tone deaf joke, I care that he's disregarded the humanity of others

I also don't care about singular comments made years ago when it seemed like he had moved past it. I was just simply mentioning that I was surprised the angry mob a few weeks ago didn't dig that one up. The discussion wasn't "fuck tobi I hope he gets exposed", but rather "holy shit remember when tobi said that thing, I wonder if anyone remembers lol" ![]()

It's kind of weird seeing so many people still around that I've known, albeit only lightly, for years and years

On another note, given how active you used to be on the NAdota forums how do you feel with what's going on right now?

I'm currently watching The Alt-Right Handbook (by Innuendo Studios) on Youtube and I've learnt a lot that I didn't really know how to process when seeing it in real life. That's on my watchlist as well. I'm considering withdrawing from the discussion because it distracts me from my own problems... I guess this is just an apology in advance for not staying engaged. I can't stand giving the haters so much ground.

funny & tragic how the one accusation that (i think?) started it all is the least damning, and that one person's lack of credibility makes it harder for others to come out because they automatically get heaped into the same category by people who leap to conclusions.

How is that surprising knowing the amount of homophobia running around in russia ? People are always so surprised when they hear dumb shit coming from cn/ru/middle east, but those guys are racists/homophobic as fuck. The western society is probably one of the most progressive tbh.

Yea we were talking about this in the LD staff slack channel and a couple of our CIS staff basically said the general opinion in CIS atm (not their opinion to make it clear) is that women are "literally ruining dota" lol ![]()

I didn't say it was surprising. In fact, it largely aligned with what I expected from most of the Eastern Europeans (and more Germans than expected honestly) on TL/LD and Reddit where they would be likelier to express skepticism about the cases. I hate to make broad cultural judgements on an area as wide as Eastern Europe, but from my unscientific observations, they have fewer filters on being "politically correct" and on the whole, don't have the same mindset as liberal Western Europe and North America on women and harassment/sexual assault/rape. They're not approaching this matter from the same starting point as some of us with their arguments about the burden and problem being on the "groupies" and women in Dota.
