The thing that kicked it off didn't really seem chess specific : Random chick donates 1000s of dollars to many chess streams and gets gifted mod status on many streams, proceeds to abuse mod status and act toxic to a poor lol player trying out chess. ...reading further, I see that she apparently is a chess.com staff member, which makes more sense as to how its chess related, and that the chess subreddit has an employee as a mod. The employee seems to be acting in good faith, but someone definitely isn't when it comes to chess.com (their competitors posts are removed more frequently). I still think it's only tangentially chess related, though. Chess.com,a playing platform, having insinuations of paying for special treatment is as close as it comes. When I think of chess drama I think of when the GMs start calling each other out, like happened a while back. This sounds like mod drama (but still fairly spicy) | ||

Not really a surprise for anyone. She seems to misunderstand certain aspects of trans people (it's not entirely mental, iirc. There have been brain waves shown to be different, I think?). | ||
