Exaggeration in my part but the removing solo doesnt really work as too many people play solo especially apparently in the highest mmrs. Also yeah the party q not being taken as seriously as solo on ranked is quite true. Btw glad midasmode is up. EE already entertaining on his 2nd game this season

I thought blizz had kinda killed gold selling in regular WoW with massive inflation tho? I had a friend who traded a $250 tf2 hat for the Kingdom of Loathing currency in like 2014 lol. I hope video game currency trading never dies

I wonder how they converted from meat to Steambucks. Was it like KoL microtransactions > meat value > USD or something.

I also remember that my friend gambled a bunch of the meat away on the money making game pretty quickly

As someone who still plays quite a bit (I'm in a 'bad' raiding guild that is halfway through mythic eternal palace, have max level neck and quite good gear) I've said before, WoW is pretty ok if you like somewhat serious raiding still. It's by far the best made part of the game. Heroic level raiding even though, let alone normal, is kind of unrewarding feeling because the gear is not very good, (ie. you can get equivalent ilvl gear gifted to you for nothing) so unless you actually have a group of people you like progressing with and hell to everyone else its pretty hard. (I can get a pug that will full clear heroic in 1.5 hours with zero wipes any night of the week, and at least I imagine this to be somewhat discouraging to a guild 'progressing' in heroic.) If you want to play with a small group of friends/solo there is really no rewarding content besides m+ or arena both of which while not in their best condition are still quite ok if you like them. Doing them solo is basically like solo q dota though, you have to have a high tolerance for many bad experiences with groups/partners and some very good ones. Not for everyone. For straightup casuals though, I have no idea why they would play the game. I suppose my definition of 'rewarding content' is basically some sort of increasing difficulty level with clear ways to measure progression. To take an example of an actual bad game, even Diablo3 has this for all investment levels. I dont see what it is anymore in WoW on the low end. Maybe it is different for other people. This is why classic is popular atm. The casual content (leveling, farming gold, etc) actually feels rewarding. However it has the opposite problem where there is literally nothing to do at the highend atm so I dunno how long it will last. I mostly play classic though outside of when I have actual content on live to do.

Kind of a shame we can't get these web-based MMOs with a killer sense of humour and a tight-knit community with mostly reasonable adults in them anymore in today's gaming and tech environment. There's West of Loathing at least. Give that a try if you haven't.

You literally sell tokens you buy with real money on the auction house for gold that other people then can use to pay subs/put money on their bnet accounts. They then cracked down on all real money trading quite hard for the various boosts/carries that people buy from other people in game. Its one of the larger problems with retail atm is how insanely prevalent these various carries are. It is basically the only thing in trade chat besides general bs. But there are extensive communities of hardcore players who basically sell services to people for gold. /shrug. It is most of the economy. However it has the opposite problem where there is literally nothing to do at the highend atm so I dunno how long it will last. I mostly play classic though outside of when I have actual content on live to do. As a casual, I have a pretty strong belief this game isn't meant for me. It takes a long time to level up, and then I believe the progression is to complete quest chains to get gear for dungeons, and then dungeon gear for heroics. Sadly, I don't have that much time/effort to spend on WoW, and certainly don't have a play group to try to handle 40 man raids even if I get that far. And that's fine, because I have the ability to choose between classic and retail. To counter the point about normal/heroic gear being bad though, I think that's just because we are on patch 8.2.5 by now, and that Blizzard wants to just accelerate us into having "good" gear for the upcoming raids, more than the structure of the game being bad. If you stayed around Kul Tiras to level up, you'd notice improvements. I mean granted, it's a massive waste of time since you can just do Najzatar for much better stuff, but I think that's just a problem with how Blizzard does power creep within an expansion. I noticed it a bit during Warlords of Draenor as well. I super agree that there's not a lot that feels rewarding outside raids/dungeons though, I haven't even picked up my professions because it doesn't seem all that interesting. For reference as to why I still do the "bad" content: I don't have flying unlocked but a buddy of mine does, so me doing the random dungeons can still actually be useful for the time being. Although maybe I should just man up instead and do the Pathfinder stuff. Weeb shit: + Show Spoiler + Azur Lane is getting a PC release made by the Hyperdimension Neptunia devs that's coming to the West in 2020 and probably a PC port in late 2020. A manga I've followed for a while has a super disappointing ending and that end of an era type of feeling has made me want to read more manga to wash away the sin. :S

+ Show Spoiler + All these Redditors having their justice boner over the impeachment inquiry, thinking, "This time we got him!" should probably prepare for the high possibility this also ends up like a repeat of Mueller's investigation. Maybe I'm wrong like with most of my political predictions, but I've seen where the Reddit liberal hivemind goes and it rarely ends up where they want it to be.

Impeachment has never removed a president from office because the threshold for conviction is SUPER high. Andrew Johnson, who by most accounts literally committed treason(by the US definition of aiding a country that we were at war with) still got off by 1 vote (he was a confederate sympathizer right after the civil war). Personally, I'd be fine I'd the threshold were a little lower, even it had meant that Clinton had gotten removed from office. His behavior was pretty awful. The people acting like it is the end of his presidency 100% are delusional though.
