The underlying message was a call for clear rules for the future, because now everybody will be doing it and Valve might change their stance on this in the middle of the season.

Bringing in any serious anti-doping agency to regulate drug use would be a nightmare I think. Trying to do out-of-competition tests on people who live all over the planet would be complicated and expensive. In-competition-tests will occasionally cause teams to have to put in replacements or drop out of tournaments entirely because a teammate gets flagged for drug use. Fans probably wouldn't be very happy to see players occasionally get multi-year bans for using legally prescribed medication. Valve certainly wouldn't be happy if theyr footing the bill for USADA staff or whoever to fly around the planet collecting piss from a bunch of kids. Hard to imagine drug testing in esports in the near future but I bet itl happen eventually

VLC maybe? tbh you should just avoid any google product like android if you're worried about spying which includes chrome, gmail, maps etc apple does it better in that regard the TL banner is still lit lul

I'm kind of curious how much it actually helps with gaming/studying/coding or whatever else people use it for. Anyone with experience able to enlighten me? lmao i am a a tl;dr is: * In controlled doses it's pretty good at helping u grind out a task (lot of homework, grinding ladder) because you're happy to just keep doing a thing for hours. I think its most successful at like "doing problem sets" or "playing the same build on iccup" style tasks. * I think its impact on making u good at vidya is overstated, generally * In particular u bump into problems where it causes you to obsess over things you don't need to obsess about (rewrite the same 20-line function 30 times or whatever, over-micro a small engage) especially at higher doses and so I don't think it's like a super-obvious win. I definitely don't think it makes you super-human-great-at-vidya in the way that some people discuss * it's wildly addictive and it (well, in the worst case it was actually modafinil) almost ruined/ended my life lol
