I'm gonna wait for a special offer anyway, otherwise my wife (who the phone is for) won't accept it if it's priced >>300€ the IP67 would suffice. I'm torn regarding the on screen fingerprint reader. As a flip cover will be in use, it's impossible to unlock before opening the case. (face ID won't be used) getting a new phone is a chore if you're out for budged instead of performance lol he posted his condolences in the incontrol thread but apart from that kind of parted ways with LD :-/ He's on twitter, but I've yet to ask CH for his ID. saw an s9 for 350 euro new on ebay so yea a bit over budget who is this other CH

I was on a temp to hire basis since June so it was pretty certain but I'm glad to be guaranteed and starting Monday. Thankfully it is a German subsidiary and takes some of their standards from them(24 PTO days per year is nice), even if the salary is slightly below average starting in the field. Congrats! I guess 24 days is a lot more than US companies usually give?

My fiancee has worked at her place for four years and gets one week paid vacation (ie 5 days PTO). More vacation is quite common at white collar jobs like this, but last I'd heard it was usually like 10 days in the first year not 20+. Other people in the thread could tell you better though. I can also use it before it is earned in a year, which is a change from the last place I had PTO at. It scales a bit less aggressively (being there 15 years gets you 36 instead) but I'm happy enough. Googled the averages and the average starting is 9-12 days in US, and even 10+ years only averages to 19 https://www.zenefits.com/blog/how-much-is-average-pto-in-the-us/

It might've been 36 at 20 years. Either way, 36 was the max. Going from 24-36 is still a nice increase, but it doesn't feel the same as say, 5-17 at other places. I think it rolls over to the next year as well. Workers rights and stuff in the US are really, really bad, basically, compared to basically any other 1st world country. Like I said, my fiancee gets 5 days PTO total where she works and has been there 4 years. My last FTE gave 4 days PTO and it had to be submitted and approved like 4-5 months in advance. I'm fine with working here even if I think my salary is like, 7% below the average for an entry level position in the field just due to that.
