Can you start up the game? Congrats, you have dota 2 installed. Can you click the watch tab and watch a game? Congrats, you have the spectator client. Can you click the play tab and queue for a game? Congrats, you have the full game.

If you go to download a free item it'll tell you that you already own it.

As TL is picking up Dota 2 as one of its main games for coverage, I decided I'd try to get more involved in the scene. I noticed a big tournament is coming up this weekend, but I don't know much about the game in general (I played HoN, so I recognize some of the heroes and whatnot, and how the game is generally played, but I don't want to be lost trying to figure out what's happening every game). Do the casters give noob-friendly commentary, or is is extremely in depth? Looking forward to watching the tournament, just looking for some tips to improve my viewing experience -- thanks in advance ![]()

The commentary will probably be a mix of everything; they need to cater to the experienced viewers but will also be very aware that there are many brand new viewers that have never played dota before in their lives.
