1000 1250 450 and then to be actually usefull you need to upgrade it atleast once, twice possibly, which is another 1250 gold or 2500 gold. It is often better to build towards a sheep. Force staff and or drums are excellent items to get aswell, both cost efficient and they give good survivability(and some teamfight potential). I can see it work in perhaps some pushing lineup, but you don't pick those heroes for that usually.

EDIT: if you're playing utility support (think the 3 position), a force staff is more useful and also has a good build up. Depending on your team composition, drums are also a sound choice, but it's possible that someone else has bought drums or mek instead. In that case, you should usually go for force staff. If you already have one though, and you can't buy a mek or drums because your team already has them, then a necro is a fine choice.

Where do you go to discuss a specific hero ? I'm on an Anti-Mage craze recently and would like to ask a few questions, where should be the good place for this ?

Usually I get it with lvl1 boots, a wraith band, a poor man's shield, and a quelling. I don't know if I should rush it even harder (no boots ?) or on the opposite side delay it a little bit more (vanguard instead of PMS ?).

optional: boots, magic stick, treads, vit booster (generally in that order, hatchet is okay too) it really depends how much your team needs you (they don't, just buy ur bfury) don't finish vanguard; pick up a vit booster if you need it (make sure you avoid autocombine via selling the shield or buying the whole perse or buying the swords first) if you're going vanguard don't buy a bfury after it. it can work, but seriously, just buy your bfury and go farm edit: formatting edit2: also tranq > battlefury ownz you can get all the swords first and then get a vlads+treads

Tough game-> vanguard. and then probably going for manta because it is easier to get. Nice game->bfury straight away. You can even go greedy with only boots on you if game was too nice. And then you can go whatever you want. manta, heart, basher/AB, bfly. bkb is a very nice 3rd/4th core item. You are a farming machine (all the creeps on map belong to you) but always bring a damn tp so you can join fight when needed.

The stats it provides are one you want for OD, being int and hp (via str) without mana regen, and it gives him a boost for mid game pushes. The stat:gold ratios aren't great compared to something like sheep, but its an interesting alternative for when you want the specific utility necro provides (small mana pool enemies that mana burn will shut down, invis heroes, blinks that can be stopped by sending them out to scout and hitting them, etc). Welp, as OD you really need forcestaff and bkb. If you rush necro, you'll simply die in fight.

I tend to start with 1 tango, 1 salve, 1 stout shield and 3 branches, then I'll get PMS, quelling blade, ring of health, boots of speed, void stone, then I'll either go straight bfury or treads into bfury. Treads before bfury if I think it'll help me get kills in lane/if I think it could save me from dying, straight bfury if I don't think either of these are the case. Some people will question the quelling blade, but it honestly is one of the best items for AM, not only does it make it easier for you to last hit, helps A LOT if you have creeps under your tower, and it'll probably help you get at least a couple of extra last hits even when the wave's not under your tower, because let's face it, your last hitting isn't perfect, and ON TOP OF THAT, once you get your bfury, it basically speeds up your farm by 32%, which is a ridiculous amount. After bfury I tend to go vitality booster into manta, and after that it really depends on what I need, butterfly, heart, mkb or bkb are common choices.

if its an easy lane(freefarm) just go straight battle fury. if its a tough lane upgrade to PMS and get a roh into a battle fury if its a REALLY tough lane, get tranquil boots aswell. then go for BattleFury if its a retarded lane then don't go battle fury and go for Manta with a vit booster and pms instead. I often go 1-1-1 stats, meaning 1 point mana break, blink and spell shield just to have them and then stats to beef up the AM(who has very little base hp) then go Battle fury, max Blink at around 10(while others are at 1) for maximum blinking in the jungle when you get Battle fury. get a Quelling blade once you get the battle fury, it will pay for itself within seconds.

Forgot to touch upon this, and I agree with it most of the time. If you're having an easy time in lane though, I like to not put any points in stats and just max mana break and blink asap since it'll allow you to be more aggressive and get kills more easily. I kind of disagree with not going bfury on AM though, in almost any situation (in pubs, that is), just because people are typically very bad at knowing when to push, so as long as you get a bfury, doesn't matter if it's late, you WILL get farm, and eventually, you WILL catch up to and surpass their carry on farm.

While you do lack in creep farming compared to a standard bfury you can somewhat compensate with hero kills. You become a nightmare for all the low mana pool str/agi heroes early on. If you can get vanguard very early it's nice as it allows you to be more aggressive and makes you a lot harder to gank, and the damage block is significantly more effective early game; however vanguard is an entire 2275 gold that becomes increasingly useless as the game progresses, eventually becoming nothing more than very expensive +hp. I find it much more useful to simply get a poor man's shield or to get only a vitality booster, and to build that into a heart later in the game.
